from Outlook Express.

Well from one of my POP3 accounts anyway.

All of a sudden I get this error message everytime I try:

The server does not support a SSL connection. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D

Any ideas? I connect to the internet now through a Netgear DG834GT router/modem. Every thing else works, I can read my e-mails fine, and send from my other POP3 account.

My partner can send e-mails on BT fine (same account different address), from her PC which is wirelessly connected to the router. I have tried all the same settings as she has with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi RB

It appears from that error that you're trying to use an SSL connection and the server doesn't support it. Check the account settings and uncheck any SSL option and see what happens (it could possibly be an error with the SMTP server on their end, but that's pure speculation).

Kind Regards

Jonty

P.S. The oft-mentioned SMTP Authentication is something distinct from SSL, just in case that's the issue.
