As it transpires I wouldn't have been in the job very long anyway.

I just got offered a job with the Council I had interviewed for about 5 weeks ago and didn't get. I was held in 1st position on the reserve list however.

The 1st choice turned it down and I've just been offered it!

:D :D :D

This is the job I really wanted, so to say I'm made up is a slight understatement.

SCREW YOU SAINSBURY'S!

How can you take a job knowing that you'll always be the employers second choice? They'll all be giggling at you behind your back!

I was actually the manager's 1st choice, as the job was actually custom made specifically for me by him and his staff.

The reason I didn't get in straight off was the decision of the HR section - they felt I didn't have enough experience working with their radio system (which I do).

But it's basically work I already do - fuel stock balancing, administration of their fuel management system etc. So I'm chuffed to bits :)

At least that's what they're telling you while they're glad they don't have to go to number 3 :D

Lol

No I was told about the job coming up 9 months before it went out for trawl, and this manager told me before it ever went out that he wanted me in it, so I was to apply for it.

Although I don't care - I think I got into my old job in BT after someone else turned it down, and I stayed there for 8½ years, as I enjoyed it up until close to the end.

Have to send in my Birth Certificate, RSA Stage 2 (Pts 1&2) certificates, and my GCSE certificates now.

Just hope they don't bloody lose them!

:)
