Hows the game run on low end PC's?

With Open Beta being shortened due to the problems with the login server, I barely got to do/see anything.

Basically my PC isn't very powerful and i'm not sure it can handle the mass player battles, so if anyone running a machine somewhere near the minimun specs for this game could tell me how it plays i'd be grateful.

My PC :
2.8 Single Core.
2GB Ram
8500GT 516 Geforce Card (The Fata1ity version).

Thanks.

If you could add another 1 gig of ram you would be good to go really.

But if you struggle in mass player battles there is always scenarios which is where alot of people are atm anyway :)

Thanks. Problem is I don't really want to be playing/paying for a game where i'm missing out on a big part because my PC can't handle it.

Asus GeForce 8500GT 512MB Silent Magic
Kingston 2048MB DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz

And it lags like hell.
Its fine when im solo but as soon as i enter a city or do some rvr/scenario it lags very very much, cant even play any RvR

I was gonna buy 2gig more ram, but im pretty sure its the processor.. What do u guys think?

I probably have the absolute minimum spec that will work fine. It is an old Athlon xp 2600, not an fancy dual core or something. Gfx is XFX Gforce 7800GTX with 256 MB. A very high end card...four years ago. 4 gig Ram. The computer itself has become a Frankensteins monster and will probably be pimped again with a faster cpu and a new graphic card.
I have no problem running the game at medium settings in pve but tends to lag a bit when everyone in the zerg/open pvp casting spells at the same time. Fastest framerate works very smooth in both pve and open pvp but it sure doesnt look that fancy but it is still fun. I also keep my system updated and adware/virus free. People that have problem with a new quadcore computer must realy stop the pr0n surfing without protection :)

If u increase ur ram from 2 -> 3 gig, will be a big help, lets me alt-tab almost perfectly

Got an AMD 4000 single core, Nvidea 7900GT and 2GB RAM. Can play the game okish when I put it in window mode at 1280x1024 and fastest fps setting. But even then the game stutters a bit in area's with large crowds in.

Hope to improve my gameplay by upgrading the gfx

AMD 64 3200,
2 gig's of corsair ram,
Geforce 7950 GX2,
Window's xp sp3 ( I think).

Runs pretty good tbh, bit laggy sometimes but not too bad.

AMD 2200 Single core 2gb DDRAM (matched pair, if you know what I am talking about yes it still does matter!) Geforce 9600 GT Runs fine with everything off, no lag anywhere. Medium settings it chugs a bit in high pop areas. Yes having that gcard with the rest is a bit like putting a Ferrari engine in a skoda.

That's ok. I mean look what happens when you put a Ferrari engine in a Tora Rossa ;)

Warhammer or pr0n - Don't make me choose :)

Thanks for the replies guys.

Upping your ram will help abit but imho the geforce 8500GT is gonna still hold you back, I have a quad core with 3gig ram and I still get lag in big rvr, the reason, I have a geforce 8500GT. I dont think its server lag but fps lag as fraps shows the fps drop of drasticly in RVR, its fine in pve stuff tho :S

The only way I have found to reduce the lagging is to drop the resolution down, doesnt seem to make to much difference what the other settings are at but res hits the fps bigtime, downside is it dont look half as nice lowres but I get no noticeable lag and been in some pretty big RVR battles :)

I have:
Intel Quad Core E6600
Nvidia 8800GTS
2GB Ram

In cities, pvp etc I get absolutely no lag. The processor does very little, 2GB ram seems fine, so I guess you guys lagging need a new graphics card rather than more memory or different processors.

Feel my pain, even though I'll prolly upgrade it soon:

AMD XP 3000+ (2.14 GHZ)
1 gb RAM
ATI Radeon x800 Pro

Prolly floating from 5-25 fps, it sucks, but I'm hanging in there ;3

My mate runs a slower system than yours, with only a 7800GT card, and has no lag issues. I would check your net connection and defrag your HDD, also check graphics drivers and if none of that works then look at SLI with another 8500GT.

I'm running a 3870x2, but if I ever want to crossfire the bloody thing I'll have to buy a bigger case :twak: It also runs very hot and no bugger makes a decent cooler for it.

I really don't understand what all the people with dual core processors and/or double gfx card setups are doing in this thread. You're all way above the minimum system requirements.

Minimum requirements are a 2500 MHz single core processor and 1 gig of ram (and a supported gfx chipset, obviously).

I can run the game, at lowest settings, on:
AMD XP2100+ (clocks at 1,7GHz)
1 gig ram, horribly mismatched, 2x256 and 1x512
6600GT (128).

Now that's a low end system. I never reach 10 fps, by my best guess, but the game is stable, and as long as I don't stress the processor on the UI (buying stuff, moving things in the inventory, that sort of thing), I have no real problems. This, however, is without ever going near large scale RvR, I've only ever tried out beginner area scenarios.

I've played two open beta characters up to level 4, and the game has been rock solid. I have to give Mythic props for making this game at least playable on a six year old rig with only minor upgrades.

Currently the game doesn't support more than 1 CPU and 1 GPU. Apparently it will in the future but it doesn't now.

The main issue I've seen is RAM. The game will scale to use as much as it can but anything older than maybe 4 years will probably have an issue.

I've tested it on my 3 systems and the only one I'm having problems on is the laptop and that's due to the RAM issue (only 1 gig).

As with most games I could only suggest the basics:

- turn the graphics to the minimum settings ingame and in the GPU control panel. Then increase the settings until you have a mix of performance vs quality.

- defrag your drive and also your pagefile. Something like Diskeeper to defrag the HDD and PageDefrag for the pagefile.

- close any other applications you aren't using!!!

when i entered the closed beta i had a :

amd sempron (32bit) 3000 (thats 1.8 ghz)
ATI 9600 pro (gpu @ 200 mhz, 128 MB ram at 400mhz)
1 GB ram (ddr @ 400mhz)
windows 2000

that config ran warhammer but it was not a enjoyable experience. 1GB ram is just not enough. i found myself qtd a lot.

then i added 1 GB (costed like 32 euro) of ram and the game became much smoother. my HD wasn`t spinning like nutter anymore, load times more than halved. i guess it didn`t need the page file anymore for every step i took.

then i replaced my vid card with an ATI 3650 (costed like 90 euro) with a gpu @ 725 mhz and 512mb ddr @ 1 ghz. i also had to upgrade my OS to windows XP as the ATI drivers no longer support win2k.

this config provides me with an enjoyable experience, even in rvr. it allowed me to switch from 1024 * 768 to 1280 * 1024 resolution and i saw no noticeable performance decrease.

then i went overclocking and upped the cpu from 1.8 to 2.0 ghz, the gpu from 725 to 900 mhz and the vid ram from 1 to 1.2 ghz.

and i`m very happy now with my performance, it`s only if i have 50 brightwizards on my screen who unleash fiery hell that the framerate goes below 10 fps.

so, for 122 euro i turned my machine from `being able to play` to `enjoyable`.

now i want to find a socket 939 amd 64 dual core (which has gone out of production ages ago) and i`ll be very happy.

War is really not THAT demanding on hardware imho.

then again it all depends what you find `playable` and `enjoyable`.

hi mate :)

TMM is on Karak Orrud playing destruction along with favail`s Knights of Pendragon (now called Fates Tainted) and fingoniel`s Humberton Guard (now called Humberton Blackguard). The Stronghold alliance from daoc which housed those 3 guilds should be up and running about now again in war.

you are more than welcome to come join us :)

a `/who merry` should point you at us when you log on.

btw, gradiuus was rr10l8 when i stopped playing on excall and moved to german servers a bit less than a year ago. 2nd most hated BB in albion.:cheers::drink:
