How to spec my friar

I currently have a lvl 29 friar specced like this:

Staff: 25
Enhance: 18
Rejuve: 15
Parry: 6

I just bumped rejuve to 15 from 12 after dinging this level for the greater rez spell. I rezzed a yellow con and they only had about 15% life, no end and 15% power. I was under the impression it would be a damn sight better than that :(. Will speccing more in rejuve increase the amounts on rez?

If so i will change my lvl 50 plan from:

Staff: 39
Enhance: 45
Rejuve: 15
Parry: 23

To:

Staff: 39
Enhance: 42
Rejuve: 25
Parry: 20

What do you think?

Have another friar based question so thought i'd ask it in here. When using Saints Vigor why does it go under my concentration as group? As far as i know it doesn't effect any group members and still carries on if you cancel the conc one so seems pointless and annoying that you have to cancel 2 effects rather than just one. Also when you have used all available conc slots you are unable to remove it unless you cancel a current buff first as you cant see it in the conc window.

I'd always recommend going for 45 enhance. Anything below and you miss out on quite a few nice things, improved AF, 5% more absorb (to 25%), and the dex/qui buff which caps out at 75. However, its a question of what else you drop in replace of that enhance. I've got 39 staff, 45 enhance, 25 rejuv with spares parry, however I actually like doing some healing. If you don't heal and don't think having the 30/10 rez is worth it, knock down the rejuv to just get pure poison/disease.

As for saints vigor, its not a buff and not a group chant, although like most self chants it does display in the conc window. If you want to cancel it just press the button on the quickbar again, don't use the conc window.

I tend to do quite a lot of healing and enjoy it too so rejuve is quite handy for me. Would increasing rejuve to 25 increase the amount of health etc that people have when i do my more powerful rez? How important is parry? If i drop it down to 12 i can have the following:

Staff: 39
Enhance: 45
Rejuve: 25
Parry: 12

Thanks for clearing that up about saints vigor :).

OK got answers to the above questions.

SPECCING:

I have 2 level 50 Friars ( one on Pryd and one on Gawaine in the US ). Both at 50 had identical specs:

staff 50
Enhance 43
Rejuv 1
Parry 1

While I was happy in combat with this spec I always felt useless in keep defense since my healing was poor and I couldn't cure poison or disease.

I have now respecced to the following after many respec trials during the bugged /respec all phase of the last 2 weeks. My final spec is as follows:

Staff 45 (+13 from RR and items )
Enhance 45 - all but last haste and resistances
Rejuv 18 - this is the magic number for the nice spec line heal. heals for 215 every time
Parry 3 ( +13 )

The reason I like this spec is that I can stand back and heal or can mix it and do good damage. I also acted as main healer in Darkness Falls from level 49-50 with no problems at all.

Parry, I've found, is not so important. I have Dodger II and find that my levels of evading far exceed my parrying, though I do parry a fair bit in PvE. My reasoning for augmenting evade and not parry is that you can evade arrows but cannot parry them. Also, you only get an additional 0.5% increase for each point of parry which seems little gain for the points. If you want to parry better get the Mastery of Parrying RA.

If I were you I'd modify my spec to:

Staff 39
Enhance 45
Rejuv 25
Parry 12

or if you really want to parry:

Staff 39
Enhance 45
Rejuv 18
Parry 21

SAINTS VIGOR:

It's a bug that it appears in the group buff area. The group receive no endurance regen from this ( more's the pity ).

I am going for:
39 staff
47 enh
15 rej
19 parry

This way I get the last haste (38%) and maybe use the slower staves more effectively... I always loved the "über" look of a fast haste :) :)

I will go for at least +11 from RR and items so I can reach 50 staff... people say that items rarely give +staff but over time you will gain realm ranks...

As for the 15 rej, well I mean... with my 15 rej I have acted as the only healer in a group and as long as there is a mins and we have BT it's fine.

Parry will hopefully work properly sometime soon and so I might as well have the 19 parry.

The saint's vigor used to affect the whole group... I'd say it has just accidentally been missed when they changed it to self-only.

Anyone got opinions on taking 47 enh, since I am still able to do a full respec for another level... please tell me now if I am making a mistake.

LOL completely forgot about the haste buff, i didnt really know what it was about when i first got it (my first char) and consigned it to an unused quick bar. Will have to move it to some where more convenient later.

I'd still drop parry and get rejuv to 18. That spec heal is damn nice in PvE and RvR.

The final haste is good but that's really all you get going from 45-47. Who needs that extra 8% matter anyway?

Fontunately all these specs really only amount to a few percent difference in the various areas so you're not gonna gimp yourself going the spec you identified above.

/waves at prydwen friars :)

39staff 48enhance 18reju 13parry

i can solo succubus quite easy with this spec...

i used to be 44staff 45enhance before respec, 44staff is a waste and 47enhance haste owns 1v1

Full staff
10 Parry + MoP
8 rejuv + Wild healing
rest enhance, around 47ish i think

Uses 100% spec points i think

Exactly my thoughts... even though I am not there yet haste-wise.

I think I will be sticking to my current template ALTHOUGH I will have a lot of time to think about the rej and parry. I now have 39 staff already and am now maxing my enhancement out... so till that is done I can simply consider my options since rej is at 15 now and parry at 8... will just think about it as I go.

Hmm thanks alot for info guys...
Am probably going to play a friar on PvP when it goes live...
Seems to be one of the rare chars on test PvP, but very very usefull, good at looking after themselves while still being uber usefull in groups....
Not sure if you have anyother thaught on a PvP build rather than a normal server build.. Im thinking there isn't much of a difference, but im sure that you guys know better than me....
>pokes Jiggs for info<
Good luck out there :)

I originally was aiming for a final spec of 47e 39s 15r 19p

Currently im considering about 47e 39s 18r 16p for better healing (whats 1.5% difference to parry going to make in the long run, not a lot)

this equals 2490 spec points

Friars get 2223 spec points

If you could do that I'd be playing a Friar right now

If my Friar had those spec points I'd be soloing Umbrals nevermind succubus. :)

OMG, what are the chances of getting those? If even half-decent (not hundreds upon hundreds of 'em) then I will try farm them!

The bracers aren't too hard. The cloak is the rarest and the jewel the next. The most dropped magic loot is a cleric-type ring.

I got a level 39 paladin in my guild ( cheers Owain ) to go farm them. He got decent XP, I got my items and I gave him 200 gold and 60 sapphire seals for his effort. Everyone's a winner.

Hamadryads seem to be all about friar stuff, they also drop Friar Leather
