Sort of - QA, but I handle most of the IT related stuff, graphs & coding etc.

That is, when people decide to send me stuff! Its the one bad thing about thsi job - its ideally suited otherwise; within walking distance of my house, easy hours, great people, pay isnt too bad either. Its just the fact that I sit here for atleast 4 hours a day with nothing to do.

Ah well, guess its improving patience

installing comps, fixing comps, networking comps.

after a while it just fucked me off. 1 too many un-appreciative people can get to you. especially when youre only getting paid £50 a fucking week!

a typical day might of involved loading up the help desk software and picking some jobs up off it.

I support another company were in partnership with and had some bloke call up from Glasgow for support and he kept rabbiting on in his strong scottish accent (of which I didn't understand a word besides "Kinda like thing" which he said 50 times in one sentence). I had to cover up the phone and put it far away because I couldn't stop laughing.

Glasgow - where they talk at 150mph and are the least understandable accent ever.

Now, bearing in mind that the company I work for offer a variety of web-based psychometric tests for 3rd party companies to use in recruitment - such as numerical reasoning tests, spatial reasoning tests, Personality and Preference Inventory tests, so on and so on.

In particular, we also offer a 'Verbal reasoning' test, designed to assess how well a candidate can reason out the meaning of a complicated question/task.

I don't work with taxes - I work with keeping people's "details" up to date in the government register, as well as granting legal permits for getting married, getting buried, etc. Also, I don't work for the British government, but the Swedish, so sadly I still wouldn't know. My advice is to either call your tax office or go visit them. They're usually quite friendly and helpful (at least in Sweden!)
