How do you avoid "Snacking" ?

Ok, so I've cut out a heavy lunch and just have fruit throughout the day, but apples and pears are like 60+ calories each according to the bags :) so two or three bits of fruit during the working day is gona be better than a stuffy lunch from the local baguette shop.

But how do you kill the cravings - damn it I can stop smoking but I cant stop getting the nibbles, its just so easy to pop down to the petrol station for a pipe of pringles or delve in the fridge for a ham sandwich when feeling peckish, or just scoff more fruit at work.

Im eating balanced healthy meals now and taking a walk during my lunch break and a cycle ride each evening (some mornings too) so i know the weight will go - i just need to stop snacking !

Willpower, once you done it for about a week it is seriously easier. Just have a nice clean breakfast / lunch / dinner and no shit.

i *try* to make sure i have fruit if i snack. sometimes a small amount of nuts or seeds, or a small pot of yoghurt. generally i want crisps or chocolate though :p

Well weekday/daytimes are easy :-

Weetabix + glass of OJ for breakfast
3 or 4 bits of fruit to munch on throughout the working day
Nice cooked balanced meal for dinner

Its the weekends that kill me, being thrown out of routine and snacking.

Sounds abit daft but don't know if your like me and always craving starchy foods in particular no matter what you seem to eat, it's those kinda of cravings it could be due to not getting regular enough kip, worked for me for a couple of months till I realised I'd rather just eat when I feel like it and enjoy myself. :p

I don't eat fruit, strong multi vit ftw, if you resist it a few times it is easy.

i dont, i control what i snack on and eat properly, 5 meals a day, and little things to eat during the day, fruit, nuts, yoghurt, salad and stuff.

If your not losing the weight, do exercise in the evening.

Try this

2 minutes skipping
20 push ups
20 bodyweight squats
20 sit ups
20 burpees

2 minutes skipping
19 wide push ups
19 tuck jumps
19 bodyweight squats on your toes
19 twisting sit ups

and one more round, do this one easier tho maybe just do 2 minutes skipping, or 10 of each excersise
then some stretching

increase the last round and every couple of days/5 days raise each exercise in the last round by 1, so 11/11/11/11 etc all the the way till u get to 18

then add another round starting at 10. once u can get 6 rounds in 20/19/18/17/16/15 then consider your cardio to be awesome :)

what about it? excellent exercise, dont need much room, builds alot of great skills such as footwork, timing, and stamina, also, u can incorporate sprints into it, aswell as mix it up alot, doubles, triples, one footed, switching between feet, high jumping, low jumping, long strides etc, also can do exercises between which breaks up your breahting pattern which is really good coz you work on breathing etc.

Im doing the 'slimming world' diet atm, cause ive seen it do wonders for my mother (and shes been on every fad diet in the world).

Rather than just a calorie controlled diet you bascialy restrict yourself to not having too much protein or carbohydrate on the same day (but as much as you want of one or the other) and removing almost all fat from your diet.

Ive stuffed myself silly for 2 weeks and lost half a stone, so gotta be something in it...

I just do a lot of road running, weights, sports. Not sure what that has to do with snacking though.

And yeah Im sure skipping is amazing.

Actually, this works...

Eat a sandwich right there inbetween your meals and late in the evening.. just a simple wholewheat healthy sandwich and you'll have a lot less of those "craving" moments :)

It's food tho, drink water lots of it when you feel need to eat:) then after 2 weeks you get sick of the thought of eating:(

And a lot more carbs that will be stored as fat if you don't burn them :(

Tears are you not eating a proper lunch? that would cause a problem, i think its best to have a number of small meals throughout the day with a decent dinner at night
im addicted to food, but i eat a lot of fruit! Maybe get some raisins, grapes too; nice and small and can pick at them:p also Seeds are good ive heard

make sure you have lunch:p maybe make some pasta/cous cous or something fairly light and good for you, have an orange or apple whatever with that, and still have little thingys to occupy yourself with
ALSO! yoghurts are brilliant, healthy ones ofcourse:p nice source of energy and yummy.. Onken Biopot Strawberry is so damn good

i could never eat so little:p my stomach goes mad at 9.30 and i eat a breakfast

That only works if you suffer with piles:(

nah but seriously u should be eating at least 3 times a day an try an pick low GI stuff. Glycaemic index is the measure of the type of carbohydrate in your food and ranges from low (e.g. multigrain bread) to high (e.g. white bread). Low GI foods generally break down slowly, helping to give you a steady energy release and better balanced blood sugar levels.means ya feel full for longer.
slimfast is lame but the layout of their eating plan makes sense (breaking up ur calories throughout the day so u can keep tabs on how much u r eating an it allows for snacking)
eg summit like 200 kcal brekkie 100kcal snack 300kcal lunch 600kcal dinner up to 200 kcal optional evenin snack or sumth similar (blokes can prolly have a bit more as they got higher requirements)
100kcal snack ideas:
1 large banana, apple orange or pear
4 kiwi fruit or satsumas
8 dried apricots or prunes
25 small green olives
30 grapes
12 medium strawberries
3 inch wedge of watermelon

water is a temp fix(or good before a meal to prevent over eating) unless u plan to chug loads all day long in which case he will be runnin off peeing all day an his work mates will think he is diabetic:p
