What form? I remember the NGUK dialup being pretty good for their servers.

All the good GSPs died, even when they came back in other forms they still couldn't compare against the originals......damn shame.

I would say, but they sucked so hard back then if peeps really care they can find it themselves.

I can remember that alot of the HL side of NGUK went over to *them* and got Electrified. ;)

First arrived ages back when I was playing TFC, CS etc. Used BW alot.

Then started playing DAOC, and moved back when the official forums shut down.

BW called meh back!1!

Few years ago now, but forgot my old forum user name.

Was reading a PCGamer mag and barrysworld poped up in there.

Been one of my best web-sites since.

Imported Tribes 1 from the USA and saw someone mention BW on an American Tribes forum.

Installed the game, saw BW had servers, played on servers and started visiting Tribes forum. All went downhill when I became League Admin :)

I saw the Barrysworld listed in gamespy when i was playing aq2 I first registered in 1999 then forgot my login password and had to reregister. Ah the days of BW dialup (will it ? won't it?)

I used to use a BW dialup account, in an effort to squeeze the most out of to my painfully slow modem, to play TFC, CTF/LMCTF. I think I must of read about it in a PC Games mag - it all seems such a long time ago. I'd just got my first PC, a DX4/100 :) - I remember how it seemed so much faster than my girlfriend's, SX-50!
Even when I've not been using the servers, I've checked the site pretty much everyday since that time, read the columns, etc, and generally lurked about silently.

Used to play QW till the early hours and this once i got me arse spanked during a hefty 1v1 DM session.


last thing i was told by the opponent said was vist "us @ barrysworld.com you dopey twat", think it was DBS

anyways only ever decided to sign up for the forums was coz HL was b0rked at the time.

Searching for a host for StrikeForce about 2 years ago.

Strikeforce died.
BW went tits up.

BW was the rescued by Game (was it EB at the time? Can't remeber).
Then had to be bailed out again.

Now apears to be in fine form (and whilst the other gsp offeres individual setups, ie mutators, BW webadmin and a million games shits all over it imo).

So SF died, BW lives on, with the option of different skins!

Meg showed me it when I started playing CS. Eventually got an account then a forum account.

BW CS was the dogs bollox in those days, nothing compared.

I miss the names around Christmas time, it was tres lame but everyone would change their name to make it christmas-sy. Nothing like this happens anymore!
