Downloading MP3s is illegal unless you have actually bought it irl. Say, if you want to download a single, it is illegal to do so unless you have bought it.

the MP3 Format isnt illegal. Using it for distributing Copyright material is though. but there are plenty of legal MP3 files out there.

I still think that's illegal. I think legally you have to buy some kind of license to show it to other people.
