The Glock 18 looks much like the Glock 17 with the exception of a switch on the left side of the gun. The switch resembles a decocker, but is actually a select-fire switch. The Glock 18 can fire in either semi-automatic or fully-automatic mode. It has a cyclic rate of approx. 1,200 rounds per minute in full-auto mode. A special 33-round magazine is made for this pistol, but the magazine will also work in any of the other 9mm pistols made by Glock.

Way too long without getting involved again. Would like ot makeup for lost time, Xer you prick you dont understand when u are losing do you. Bunny hoping and hossie jumping, are basically taking the piss and probably cheatting, I know i said HJ is ok in publics but not all the time. Boosting IS TEAMWORK, you can and are meant to be able to get on roofs on many levels, but you are not meant to skywalk. HJ is a valve problem and they need to sort it.
Why would map designers have gone to the trouble of making roofs walkable, if they did not intend people to walk on them?
As for this whole gun thing. As i understand a fully automatic gun is one which can unload its entire clip, via holding down the trigger. The glock 18 is not automatic, To unload the entire clip a single trigger squeeze is required for each 3, or 1 round shot. Hence semi-automatic. At the end of the day Xer its just agame, that attempts to mimic realism without taking away the fun, I think we can all agree the guns in CS are fine and we dont need to get pickey. HJ and BH are thing that need to be fixed. To promote teamwork and piss off Xer i think someone should crearte a bomb map, where the sites are on roofs, so peeps need to boost. (maybe not....)

I just played on BW server where some dumb fuck was hossie jumping on Arabstreets. Told him to stop, he didnt. Therefore I shoot the hostages to stop him.

I was on a BW game last night and some 1 started hossie jumping I waited till they were nearly on the roof and I shoot all the hossies. hehe Shit I took some abuse, but I carried on killing hossies.
HOSSIE JUMPING SUCKS and players who hossie jump should be lined up and shot with the semi automatic Glock, no i mean automatic, no semi, no auto, who gives a fuck but my money is on Xer being wrong.

ok, here's an interesting poser carling (btw, i'm Wifebeater...
what if someone uses hossies to get to places, that their team-mates could bunk them up to? For example...on arabstreets as T, getting to the roof via the awning. sometimes tam-mates are too clueless to understand when you ask for a bunk up, so would using hossies in that situation be lame too?

In an ideal world we could trust ppl to hossie jump as long as the hossie did not leave the floor, but it is not a ideal world and ppl will just take the piss. Just to keep it simple for every one I would say hossie jumping is a no go.

Um...I can't remember the topic, but ne ways.
Hossie jumping, yeah that's a laugh, I tend to do it when I get real bored.
It's fun using the hossies to explore a level, but as to whether or not they should be used(i.e. jumped on) in a game well, there are pros and cons.
Some of the stuff may have been said previously, so full respect to those who said it.
It is possible in real life to jump on a hossie and reach a higher place, understandably the fact that the hossies aren't affected by the gravity is a point, but all things considered, the hossies if they were one on top of the other, (as previously stated(circus trained hostages)), would possibly but very unlikely be able to boost someone to high places.
Then again, in certain maps, for instance Arab Streets, which in itself is a difficult map from the cts perspective, with the terrorists already having the advantage at the 2 attack points, Hostage jumping is an extreme annoyance, since it takes a lot of skill for a team of Cts to take the advantage on that map, but to also face some lamer on the roof is an annoyance, since they have an unfair advantage, unless of course the cts get on the roof first, but that doesn't have the same effect since the ts can still hold the hostages inside the building.
Funny thing being sometimes hossie jumping can be an advantage for the cts, all the ts trying to get on the roof, the cts just run in and get em unprepared.
I can also see the tactical advantage in hiding the hossies if ur team are getting f**cked(wait can I swear?...)
All things considered, there are advantages and disadvantages, one map they are lame hossie jumpers, next time you play that map you do it urself, so really you can't complain.
I don't think any firm conclusion can be made, just accept it as part of the game, and adapt.
To be the best you have to learn how to adapt to a game and the design and design flaws of the game.
So it's no use complaining.

...because HL <> Realistic, or perhaps they didn't do their research properly, or perhaps they thought it would make the Glock 18 too powerful to implement it as it should have been (ie optional Machine Pistol setting.)

That doesn't make a right lot of sense (ie that they changed the Glock because otherwise the T pistol would be too powerful). Because if that's the case, why give the Terrorists a Glock in the first place? It's hardly the archetypal Terrorist weapon is it - better off with a Makarov or something.

The gun *was* used by terrorists in Die Hard 2 (but for the wrong reasons as I already outlined above) - so perhaps that is where they got the idea from?

The laws of physics do not allow pistols to be fully automatic because you can never hit anything with them and they burn off ammo faster than you can truck it up.
With attachable stock, maybe. However, all the weapons I have come across like this are still limited to 3 rd burst.
btw X, the TMP is a machine pistol, yes. But it is still twice the size of the Glock. Needs to be in order to keep the mass up in relation to the bolt. Besides, the TMP equivalent for the T's I believe is the MAC-10.

The Glock18 actually redirects the exhaust gasses upwards from the barrel, thus lessening the recoil from the bolt.
Basically, anyone who posted that the Glock18 is not a fully automatic handgun didn't do their research and are conspicuous by their absence from the rest of the thread.
The application and viability of the weapon in real world combat situations is just an ancilliary matter.

Xer you are usually worng, not well thought out and frankly pointless....This time (must be a fluke or something) you got it right) not beleiving the links you gave i looked for some of my own, they all confirmed the glock 18 has a fully automatic option, and there are two models a glock18c as well. The 18c was made to solve recoil and range probs with the original model. I also asked my m8, who has loads of military and gun mags, they also confirmed this.
