Recommend some please :p they dont have to have godly special effects or anything just recommend a decent horror/monster movie.

Edit: just to exclude some movies i've seen almost all of stephen kings horror/monster stuff so no need to add that :) got them on dvd.

I watched a really neat one last night, 'Trick r Treat' it was only made last year but reminded me a lot of stuff like Tales from the Darkside and the old Crypt Keeper movies, nothing really graphic but really good fun and nice and seasonal too lol

lol note the best ones are the classics, new stuff is generally shite. Modern horror movie makers cannot do creature features!!

Q the Winged Serpent. 1980's movie. Not seen it on DVD. I had it on early VHS- shows how long ago we're going back here. I'm sure you can D/L it from the usual places. Well worth a watch IMO. Came out around the same time as the Evil Dead.

Only seen a couple that were memorable Mimic and Relic were not bad. The Thing is still my fav though.

Aye its the classics I like the most :) CGI ruins the whole horror effect these days, those old rubber suited monsters are the best :p

Jack: I'm in downtown NY, hiding from the russian mafia, nuclear fallout and my ex-wife while trying to find my missing daughter and my pet chihuahua.
HQ: What's the problem?
Jack: People are acting weird and *IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!* I gotta go.

The Host (which is quite new) not a huge horror and has subtitles as its a Korean Film... Also has a good review too... was on the other night... Worth a watch seriously...

I saw Paranormal Activity on saturday, girl thinks she's getting haunted and her and her bf move in together so he decides to video everything they do, and set cam up when they're sleeping etc and it gets pretty bad :p low budget but very good film!

Also, The Descent I was shitting my pants for days after that, I also have been informed there's a second one out but no way i'm watching that, first one fucked me up for a bit as I was alone for a week in my big old empty house :<

El Orfanato! Scary as fucking fuck! I had to go treat myself to a cig in the middle of the film! You will need subs as it's in spanish, but it's well worth it!

seconded, some of the scenes will send a chill down your spine

If you watch IT, dont watch the second side of the DVD, after the first half the movie turns really really bad
