Nothing i can do i am not planning on having kids

But something to think about for those with more than 2 kids imo

David attenborough said that educated women have less children

so thats one way without dictatorship ... but it was stated if the whole world lived like europe it could support 2bn ppl and like the usa 1.4 billion

So its a trade off between living standards and population .

If you dont like to live like in india or Rwanda which could support something like 12-15BN ppl ... then i suggest you take your facist scare mongering somewhere else

Actually, i'd say unauthorized babies be taken into the system to be given to better(more equipped) parents, or aborted if so wished.

The way those babies would be found by the system, would be via the healthcare etc system. Ofcourse if people want to feed, care and do all the baby stuff on a farm with no government assitance, thumbs up to them.

Samm is pregnant with our second child and that will be it for us. We talked about it for over a year before deciding to try for another.

When your balls drop you will understand that children give your life meaning Wazz , it is afterall what we are here for. It is all we are meant to do and living past mid 30's was never the plan.

The world can sustain a lot more people if we throw off consumerism and go back to something more sustainable - stop building things with built in obsolescence and build for a life of 10+ years.

They did suggest other ways, but they said the simplest solution was simply to reduce birth rates through education and availability of contraception. Nothing sinister there.

This is the problem with any debate like this; population control inevitably rings of fascism because who gets to decide who has kids? I wouldn't trust any politician with that responsibility. Plus, all the "logical" approaches to the problem lead towards either eugenics or measures of poverty (which on a global scale would mean bad news for lots of brown folks), which in turn points straight at a Nazi agenda.

The Chinese one child policy is another approach, and would probably work better in Europe, (where we're not as obsessed about having male children) than it does there. The problem is that the Chinese model also has a brutal economic (and social) effect on those couples who have a second kid, which Europeans wouldn't tolerate. I remember reading an SF story once where the right to second children was via the lottery. I can think of worse approaches...

Well, its proven that developed countries does indeed have a lot less children, so in theory, getting a majority of our undeveloped countries above the poverty line would reduce our populationgrowth a great deal. However, developed countries have a tendency to use a hell of a lot more resources, so Id say its there we need to focus on change.

As I said, Europeans would be less likely to screw up the sex ratio. Unfortunately, Europeans are already having kids below the replacement level (I think there's only a couple of EU countries where the average is over 2), so a one child policy here wouldn't solve anything.
