This is the last day of my holiday, for the first two weeks I was revising, third week I was taking my exam and attending lectures and now I have just had a whole 3 days off all to myself!

Southend-On-Sea does not have a beach. It has a stretch of pebbles and chavs between the seawall and the water.

Between the seawall and the broken neon signs of the arcades are bike clubs wondering why they can't see the handlebars for their bellies. During the days you can see pink-faced beer guzzlers trying to suck down as much beer as they can before they get heat stroke. Its like a race to see if they can their kidneys to crumble before their arteries pop.

You can get the worst icecream on the planet anywhere along Southend's front. However, Rossi's serves some very nice icecream if you can be bothered going further along past the casinos. While you're there, marvel at the couple of very incongruous palm trees. I have no idea either why they are there

If you stray into the Kursaal area on your drunken way home you can even pick up stray bits of metal to take home with you. A quick detour to the local hospital and they are easily removed. Friday & Saturdays are particularly popular in Southend and you can think of Southend A & E as the other pickup joint if you haven't scored in any of the clubs. Of course you'll be getting damaged goods but then, so will they.

i did this a few years ago on the west coast of scotland with some mates on a 42 footer was absolutley brilliant, gorgeous scenery seals dolphins mountains valleys, then mooring up and getting trolleyed at night, would sugest it to anyone who hasnt been on a sailing holiday

11 weeks till my holiday/wedding/honeymoon.

Off to Cyprus to get married, staying at and getting wed at the Four Seasons Hotel for a bit of luxury.

Just got all the pressure of sorting out the remaining crap . . . but the good thing is the Euro is now at a 19month high and expected to continue to rise over the next 4-6weeks which means it be cheaper then expected \o/

I spent my honeymoon in Cyprus, based up in the Troodos mountains where it was not too hot and we travelled all over Cyprus. Lovely place, especially in late summer but after being given bunches of grapes EVERY meal time by just about everyone we got around 3 carrier bags full of grapes by the night before leaving. To avoid any hurt feelings I did a late night run to the grape trucks that were parked over-night ready to deliver to the winery in the morning.

Yep too poor to afford Holland and this holiday, this holiday wins. A week in the sun with a beach or a couple of days in a Euro Aids country? No contest.

Southend is no worse then most place, and never seen the white stilletto sluts everyone talks about even though I worked in the "town centre" for years, and lived just a few miles up the road from there

However it is a bit of a shithole, wonder if they still kicking the crap out of illegal immigrants though!

And the seafront was great, until it got plastered with speedbumps. What a waste of a great stretch of road.

THe sealife centre there is actually alot better then many other "bigger" places, but that about all itgot going for them. Probably one the best memories is all the bowling balls laying around after the pier got burnt down!
