Southend is no worse then most place, and never seen the white stilletto sluts everyone talks about even though I worked in the "town centre" for years, and lived just a few miles up the road from there

However it is a bit of a shithole, wonder if they still kicking the crap out of illegal immigrants though!

And the seafront was great, until it got plastered with speedbumps. What a waste of a great stretch of road.

THe sealife centre there is actually alot better then many other "bigger" places, but that about all itgot going for them. Probably one the best memories is all the bowling balls laying around after the pier got burnt down!

it's really not that bad, its not the ghetto everyone seems to make out it is? lol :S

anyway, i was gonna go away to greece, but my mates couldnt bring the dollar together, and i didn't want to go on my own!!

Weather - med style. I went to the Sunny Beach resort, which is very very lively. For a quieter time you can go to one of the resorts on either side and still get to Sunny Beach very easily by bus or taxi. It's surrounded by mountains and the beach has a blue flag award. Late 20's when I went, hot as late 30's in August.

Nightlife - full on dedicated bar strip, lots of dusk till dawn (and some 24 hour) clubs. Music caters to a wide range, but mainly dance music and Euro trash.

Chicks - full of 20 somethings from Germany, England, Holland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden etc. The Bulgarian women are hot too. It is a full on beach party style resort, think spring break without the Americans.


the beach is lovely, lots of stuff to do during the day if you want, but lots of pool / sea fun if you just want to chill.

You can eat for around £10 for two in most places, less if you just want pizza and burgers. Beer is at most 50p a pint in most places. Local spirits (including vodka) is cheap, imports cost more. As a guide most places have a permanent happy hour so you get two cocktails (all free poured by the way) for around £5. A Vodka mixer in a club is around £3.
