Well it looks like the plod might be close to finding them.
Lets hope they are not dead, but I think, sadly, thats it's unlikely.
Check the news.

I'm not that bothered, it is sad but it seems all too common now and lets not forget this isn't the only case like this.

They had two people in for questioning before so don't expect too much.

Can it be that you people are becoming more considerate of the plight of children in modern society...

....afterall it wasnt that long ago that the childrape in S Africa was an amusing subject for some on this forum.

Perhaps it was because it happened in another countryand that that makes it therefore amusing. But when something terrible happens close to home its somehow must make it less amusing... and therefore some tossers here are slower to make jests......strange

IT WAS PROLLY A MAN CITY FAN

Look, a joke about a serious subject in this country. Just because I (or others) joke about it doesn't mean I think it's not a serious event, it's just the way I react to stuff. I made jokes when members of my close family died, it's my natural response. Just because you don't feel the same way, don't get sanctimonious.

Gah, some people REALLY aren't the sharpest crayon in the box.

In some ways all this news coverage isn't helping.

Tis very sad, cos like most people here I don't think they'll be found alive now. :(

That said the news coverage is pissing me off too. Me and my mates were recovering from the piss up last night watching the news this morning (the live press conference with the parents on BBC News 24), and we were killing ourselves laughing.

Not at the situation, but at the amount of times reporters asked the same fucking question over and over again, worded each time in a different manner (and sometimes not).

Basically: "How do you feel?" x30

I think to be a TV reporter you have to gain a degree in stating (or requesting someone to state) the fucking patently obvious.

or What do you miss the most about your children?

Ja, tbh I don't think that there is more child abduction going on now than a few years ago, yet it seems very fashionable for it to be on tele now so it gets incredibly hyped up etc, and everyone jumps on a story.

One of the things I hate is those angry mother marches, where they shout about pedos. All well and good till you see the little kids with t-shirts saying "Keep us safe". Tbh, I find that fucking sick.

There has been quite a few Kidnappings / Murders this past year, that of Sarah Payne, Milly Dowler and now these two

The bloke who murdered sarah Payne lived in the next street to me. When the police chased him he nicked the number plates off next doors car to aid his getaway somehow. :(
As someone who has children its really pretty scary .

Yes but you only know about it because the media deem it newsworthy. I'm sure there are plenty of the past few years but my point is that recently it has become quite fashionable, for want of a better word. As a result the media splatters it all over the place and people think we have some sort of sudden surge of kidnappings. Something which is probably far from the truth.

Sometimes I think it all does more harm than good.

My theory is it incites a lot more people to commit these acts, as they see the sort of attention it garners in the media.

Who btw psychologically manipulate the non-intellectual sheep to whip up a frenzy (EG pedo vigilantes last year), thereby garnering themselves bigger ratings/sales in a very vicious circle.

:(

Well done to the police. I hope they find those girls soon.

It will be a kind of relief for the parents to know where they are and what happened to them. Its more torturous not knowing anything...
