The previously announced September 30th release date for Half-Life 2 is being pushed back. We are currently targeting a holiday release, but do not have a specific "in-store" date to share at this time. We will release that information as soon as we have confirmed a new date."
This is on planethalflife.com, shacknews, halflife2.net and just about everywhere now.

Its actually not been independently confirmed, shacknews are the only site hat have received this e-mail. The other sites have just linked to shacknews and stated that they personally have not been informed.
Although it probably is being delayed, I would like to wait for Valve to inform all the major sites and retailers.

Not really surprised, but somewhat disappointed, as I was one of these people who was holding out just a little hope that HL2 would miraculously make September 30th.

But hey, we can still hold out hope that the HL2 benchmarking tool will be out on the 30th, which should give us all a taste of what we can expect.
