Hibs: General behaviour code in /cg

Tonight was without doubt my worst night in RvR. Hibs were totally unresponsive, completely ignoring anyone taking the lead. The /cg's I was in were ruined by people flaming eachother, people not reading em, or people simply refusing to go along with plans.

So here's my suggestions for behavior when in an RvR cg:
- Don't flame. Can't avoid the occasional complaint, but flames go from bad to worse and end up spamming the cg rendering it useless. If you flame you ruin the cg. Even if you're right and the other's wrong.
- If nobody's leading and someone steps forward to give it a try, follow the leader. If you can't or can't be bothered to do better, at least give someone else a chance.
- If you disagree with the leader, flaming is not the way to express it. Stay silent, give advice, or leave. Try not to start a power fight if you think you know better, instead be tolerant and try working together.
- Pay attention to what's being said / asked. If you don't read the cg, leave the cg.
- If the cg is made with a specific goal (like 'the Crim retake squad') and you have no intention of helping to reach that goal, leave the cg.
- Have patience. Getting people organised takes time. Running off often spoils the plans. If you do decide to run off, at least make it known and say where you're going.
- If you do something other than sticking to the plans, like abandoning a charge to res another group, it's ok as long as you make it known. If the group charges expecting 4fg's to charge with em and only 2 show up coz the rest is busy ressing, you might end up getting everyone killed if you don't speak up.
- Generally: use some common sense, and try to be of use and support to others. That's what RvR cg's are for.
- Show some spirit; it stimulates everyone to get more involved. Don't hesitate to step forward when volunteers are asked for scouting, baiting, ressing, distracting, etc.
- If you see people outside of the cg yelling orders, or asking if there is a cg, say so in /cg and get them invited. At least tell them there is a cg.
- Post useful information in /cg. Sharing information is what RvR tactics are all about. Hard to decide what to do or where to go when we don't know what's going on around us.
- Don't swear. Saying things like FFS and STFU are generally good ways to stop people from being cooperative and start flaming.
- Chatting can be fun, but try to keep RvR cg clean of too much spam so the more useful information does not drown in spam. Besides, chatting a lot is a good way to lose /stick ( ;

Feel free to comment; these are the points I found lacking in RvR cg tonight. And most will agree Hib teamwork was horrible tonight.

Lol yeah another good one:

yelling "ALBS" or "HELP" in /cg is utterly useless. At least mention
- where (direction like "N of Crim"; /loc takes too long to figure out)
- how many

Whining hibs

Now serious, when u r in grp and u suddenly see 3fg of albs running toward u and no other ppl noticed, u´d better say ALBS first. When u finish type "albs 2fg prolly 3fg NW inc now" u r mezzed alone with all ur grp in that famous 1.12 min sorc 44 mind spec mez.

It´s better let ppl be alert and then give direction than type and get owned (which happened to me really)

Alliance isn't /Cg, smarty

Many albs are twats, expecially u, Aussie :D

Btw, it isn't proper to yell or flame Aussie, just because he is him. It was the first alliance-post i got from AU, when i joined The Brethren. God i laughed hard. Some ppl from your own guild was flaming u :p

In response to the original post:

If you don't agree with the leader, do as you are told anyway. Only if everyone follows the leader's orders, and things go wrong, will the leader be able to determine why things went wrong. If people keep doing their own thing, no one will be able to figure it out.

Same old mistakes....

Aye good points....few other things too

1) Dont spam the chat group for a res - ask ppl in PM's if possible. Ask ONCE or TWICE on the chat group if you cant get anyone - not like a certain person who shall remain namless last week...made a macro for the cg and spammed "Gimme a res at amg am xxx class blehg u need me get me up now FFS RES ME"...every ten seconds or so until the fustrated chat group leader removed him....

2) If you do post up an incoming force on the cg admittedly all you'll have time for is - ALBS INC or somthing initially...but then (Especially if ur a stealther) feed the others information - such as numbers cons....if they're zerging or just ressing etc... Information is all in rvr - you have the info you can defeat a vastly superior force thru tactics...

3) Something specific to the TK areas....Dont res people who've chased albs/mids to the telekeep to be RP monkeys..... Especially if they've done it repeatedly. No names need to be mentioned i'm sure. If you dont res them they'll learn eventually...it's a long run back to think about what you did wrong and maybe they'll stop TK camping as a result. Not saying you shouldnt res ANYONE there...just those who keep on charging alone or in very small numbers despite the odds.

Soz about the long post but basically it's three things i see happening EVERY single time i go rvr and it often results in an emain hib wipeout directly or indirectly. Making a mistake is fine guys - we all do - but repeating it over and over again is stupid :p

Problem with hibs is they think they are better and dont want to be lead unless proven by fire, ie previous experience and so we get a solid 8 peeps who take on groups on 30, die, release and try aghain for several hours......

Certain classes are deemed to be 'unfit' to lead, such as Rangers, Nightshades, Bards.. basicly any class who cant take a beating and deal out death fast enough, end resuslt is a milling of headless chickens, a single aoe mez ( or ten) and we got a lot of pissed off releasing hibs who will disband and alt/log for a few hours.

People seem to think they strongest char, uie a tank is best for a leader, then we get the big long conga line of /stick people, the driver doesnt know his arse from his elbow and everyone gets a right good kicking.
Hibs dont like to be told what to do and generaly have a foul mouth and opinions/criticisms about OTHER peopes leadership, so if someone bitches to me in my group about what should be done i warn them, they do it again they get kicked and can find another group to pester to death then grief for an hour.

Rvr is fun, people say zergs are no fun, they are if your group is organised, not a feeding frenzy to get into combat and get killed only to span every chat for a rez.
If someone knows how to lead, has a good group planned and choses to defend/pull back rather than head in full charge then pester every healer is emain for a rez....let the person feckign well lead! Maybe we'll win some fights instead of letting superiour numbers decide an evenings worth of rvr

ALBS INC is not helpful at all. There are always albs inc ffs. :p
If you think you can only get part of a message off then "inc N", or whatever direction, or "albs N", or just "N" is far better than "ALBS!! or "ALBS INC" or "INC".
Why? Well if you just state a driection everyone who is in the area will be alerted to where they are imediately. "Albs", will ahve everyone looking around wildly to see where from but "N" everyone will look north and see the albs and be ready.
Then someone in the area (everyone but complete muppets who are where the albs are should now know they are inc) who isn't completely busy (stealther, mezzed person, dead person) can post the location on the cg. "AMG" for instance. And reinforcements now know where they are needed. Numbers can be fed to them then also.
