Hibernian Alliance Situation

Merging the CBH and CF alliances would be a big step in the right direction, and the idea of creating a guild of the alts of GMs and RvR officers to lead the alliance, seeing their GMs alt in the guild leading the alliance would imo give all guilds a feeling that they're a real part of the alliance while not hurting anyone's ego

A few weeks ago i posted a thread about realm funding. I felt the concensus was that funding was necessary, but that the working out of such a funds would be too difficult.

If we may create a united guild to lead a realm alliance, perhaps the idea of a realm funds can be picked up again, because that would allow better organising etc...

Just an idea....

Again it comes back to people throwing the toys out the pram just because someone said something on /as that wasn't important to them, hardly a disaster though. People need to get over themselves and see the bigger picture, stop being so insular.

I'm with you on this one, the more guilds in it the more tolerant people are going to have to be, don't forget some people play for a laugh, some are quite young, some are also quite drunk and others are plain rude, u can't spit the dummy (I love that phrase!) everytime someone does it, it just adds to it!

And another thing, /as is good for info but you get more spam on main so what's the big deal? I've been in a couple of alliances and it happens, get over it, move on, slay some invaders.

Off subject I was in a hilarious muire tomb grp this moring, led by someones alt it was like a jaunt to siabra city/frontier, with 2 grps, lots of yelling on main and such silliness, made me realise why I've decided I don't give such a stuff anymore about dying

That thread was about the idea of a realm funding as i wanted to know how people would respond to the idea.
I clearly stated that the working out could be done later. And i must admit at that moment i didnt had an good idea how to realise it myself (but hoped perhaps someone else did).

But now, IF there would be a realm alliance and a united guild, i think the possiblities to work out such a fund are realistic and feasable.

Restricting access to /as from lower members of a guild due to spies is a moot point at best, all the uberhardcore players use irc and THEY are the ones that leak information.. to eachother..

That being said i realize that the more you broadcast something the more chance it is that it will leak. But you cannot make a simple rule which will cover all situations, some guilds may be very small and thight where everyone can have access to /as, others may be bigger and have a trial system, and /as might have to be restricted to "senior members" only.

I really hope someone has what it takes to get a realmwide alliance going though, it would propably help shift the weight in rvr a good deal in our direction.

I have only two words about one big Hibernia alliance. It will be greate. And we really need it.

I can't to say more about it, becouse my english is not very good, but i think, all hibs must to understand me - only together we can to save our realm.

Valid point for larger "invite everyone" type guilds, but probably doesn't apply to smaller guilds such as LoC.

And about this alliance thingie, aren't we all Hibbies ?? Sad we need an Alliance to stick together should work without it.

First of all i want to tell you that i find the idea of making a realmwide alliance is great and would help us alot to organize some serious RvR in emain or somewhere else. The point is that there will soon be popular leaders. And most of the Hibbies will listen to them. Everyone knows the problem about some ppl trying to be smart in emain and giving some foolish oders.... this way we run into several directions and we wont be organized at all! On a realmwide alliance there would be some ppl most of the realm will respect and will listen to. So it would be realy great if it CF and CBH gets this thing working. Common guys.... you're the one having the power to do such things.... give yourself a push and TRY it! If its not working at all we can still get back to this NOT WORKING way of Hibbie RvR!
My second point is about spaming as: As i've been in the CF alliance before it split and am now in the CBH alliance - so i kind of know the differences. In the CF alliance there was a serious spawn from time to time. why: Cus ppl - and those were the high lvls and leaders as well - were discussing the propper use of as over and over again when some1 said something in as that they didnt think it belong there! So one sentense said resulted in a discussion of at least 10 ppl! THAT was the spam! In the CBH alliance those things are just tollerated. Maybe some1 sends a PM and thats it. No big deal about it! Thats the way it should work i think not arguing with ppl about what belongs to as and what not!
And the chance of organizing things at certain times in a leading guild made by alts would just be great! It makes things alot easier and maybe it brings some new ppl with the ability to lead a Hibswarm! Would be worth it. Only know one person so far able to do so - and next time we'll win

another advantage of a realm-wide-alliance:

When a guild has claimed a keep the bonus for defending that keep ( 3-15% dmg-bonus depending on keep) applies to each member of the alliance - would be a nice bonus for all people in the usual daily defense of Crim/Crau etc... maybe just the icing of this cake, but i think it's worth baking it

If someone is pathetic enough to spend reallife money just so he can have a second account purely for spying in an enemy guild, then I say let him. Would be a shame to distrust your own guildmates and restrict your /as policy just coz people like that exist.

And besides, people are shouting that late night raiding is for cowards because there's no challenge in raiding when there's no opposition... well if enemy spies spread the word to the enemy about your raids, you can count on some thorough defence, just like y'all want so bad ( ;

I started our little alliance some months ago, and the as was mainly intended to help so it should be easier to get groups, and also a little bit of RvR info. Everybody in the alliance is able to speak/hear as, cause if not, the point is skrewed. We haven't had much prob with spam either.

The idea of aone big alliance sounds good to me, but I know there are still many hibs that is not interesting in being apart of a big alliance where they can't either speak or hear as. Then they feel like theire not in an alliance at all.

We are about 8-10 guilds in the alliance atm, and I will place it in alliance message of the day, and try get some feedbacks if peeps are interested in joining a big alliance if someone make that.

It's a great idea really, lets make something out of it instead of ONLY speak about it. Good luck m8s

IMO, I really don't think /as should be used for rolling Emain battles, as it's just going back and forth really.

It should be used for keeptakes/defense and the like, or if there is a hunt for some gank squad that is roaming around.

Its treu that if more ppl can see /as there is a bigger chance that spy's will see it , but do you realy think you can stop spys from finding out anyway ? I dont think so and whit a big alliance we should be albe the stand up agained the zerks anyway , thats the hole id right ?

I think officers should have /a send and the guild members should be able to hear it , this is needed for raids , so every1 knows what to do by looking at /as chat.

This is how its at CBH and i think it works greath !

I support a merging of the 2 major alliances. I have been a member of the CBH alliance, and never suffered from spam. I learned a lot from raid leaders, and was impressed with the organisation of raids. Unfortunately, my current guild is not a member of any alliance, and as a result, my participation in RvR had dropped right off, making playing my bard boring (can't exactly solo), and playing alts frustrating, because I would rather be having fun in RvR with my bard.

I actually miss the little so called "spam" I used to see in the various different alliances I've been in...(just the 2 main ones.)
I cant actually remember the last time I seen anything in /as apart from "Test".
Too strict rules in /as makes it rather inept.

Anyway is there actually anything planned regarding a big Alliance?
I see a lot of support but not too much from the powers that be.

Having worked with my brothers in CBH, Na Fianna, and a whole host of other guilds for tonight, I have a greater respect for them, and the amount of dedication they can show.

I stand fully behind any realm wide alliance.

I want to press ahead with this asap but It was agreed in talks with Grizzy that we would improve communications and relations between alliances with a view to a merge. I deffinatly think we need to get more guild leaders together and have a chat about it.

Also, someone mentioned that currently there might be an upper limit of 20 guilds in an alliance, I dont know it this is true but CF alliance + CBH alliance > 20 so that could be a problem.

So far I got positive replies from Eternal Warriors, so we're in. Need some more info about how the policies will be though. Who is gonna be able to speak/hear the as. Since thats up to all GMs in the different guilds to set up who's able to hear/speak in as. Maybe speak for all officers and hear for everybody....

Just PM in game as Kobold and I'll meet up with you other GMs for making/discussing.

Yes this is true but i remember seeing it in some future patch notes. This issue is addressed and it gets increased to 50 guilds. I forgot which patch it is, but it does get increased soon.
