I watched that drug program on tv just recentley.
One statistic freaked me out, a heroin addict needs to steal 25 mobile phones a day to feed his drug habit.

bah posted too fast... I was going to say that when I was in Eng I had several encounters of the like. It can definetely be disturbing. I'm used to volunteering in homeless shelters on occassion and you meet a lot of messed up people there....
much more violence than I'm accustomed to seeing... and I guess that sounds odd coming form someone living in a country where there are guns everywhere.

Do you know how damn quick you can end up exactly where those junkies are? One or two unfortunate incidents happening and your safe and cosy life is falling apart and you´re on the receiving end of threads like this.

Im sick of all this shit about people saying oh its not their fault...fuck off!!!! of course its their fault no matter how bad your life is you dont need to stick a needle in yourself and become a dirty junkie you get on with it like everyone else
Theres people out there everyday who make me so sad to see them stuggling on through all sorts of terminal illnesses and not receiving anywhere near the amount of suport and funding form the government that these drug users get
Its embarrising and i for one would have no regrets to kick the shit out of all of them until they were dead
They are the reason that this country is fallin apart.
Try and tell someone whos dying of cancer that they cant receive their treatment becuause the money just isnt there due to the government pumping money into methodone programs to provide for the "poor sufferers" who inflicted their pain on them selfs

Dude, there are more people dying from legal drugs like alcohol and nicotine in your country than from heroin and your gouvernment is paying MUCH more money for people with lung cancer and liver or brain damage. yeah the same war that the majority of the people in this country were against (myself included) the government didnt give a shit about what we thought it was just a sad lonely man trying to kiss the arse of america.
And yes your right money is pumped into alchohol and other drugs and im not saying that they are better either. IMO anyone who is dying of a self inflicted illness (lung cancer if their a smoker, liver cancer etc if their a drinker) should have to pay for it themselves
And please dont get me started on the amount of money that goes into AIDS funds when it is a disease caused by stupidity on the majority, yeah there is still people who catch this disease by no fault of their own (blood transplants, infections at work/life etc) but this is a disease solely brought on by people shaggin and not thinking of the consqeuences.
If i were to tell you that walking outside without a jacket on you would have a chance of dying would u do it?
However my one point i would mention about this is the role the catholic church has played in the increase of AIDS in the 3rd world. Were it not for the church informing the people of africa and other countries that sex with a condom was evil and they would burn in hell for it, then perhaps the Aids epedemic would not be as large.
I personally believe a religion that could sit their and tell people that god loves them and if they get aids well its better than being in the bad house with him is a fuckin joke

Hey im not sticking up for them in anyway.
All i'm saying is that how can people not use condoms coz the catholic church say not to but can sleep around & have sex before marriage? I dont think you can blame the catholic church for the spread of Aids. You could however blame it for the sexual tension in alot of teenagers

That is an incredibly ignorant comment. The majority in Africa did not even know what contraception and similar devices were when the AIDS epidemic arose. If they did, they could not afford to get it either way, as the countries if Africa were generally not supplied with such "expensive" goods. While awareness of the virus is far wider than it was back in the 80s, some are still not informed, or misinformed, leading to them unknowingly passing on the virus. Many need to take the risk of spreading the disease simply because they cannot survive, and need extra hands to work for them so they can afford food.
You simply cannot assume the situation in the third world countries in Africa are anything like the UK, where awareness is far greater. If you want to rant at someone about wasting the world's money, stick to the smokers/drinkers.
