Reading through the thread again, there's a lot of love for the show but also mucho pessimism (which unfortunately was justified given the apparent thickness of TV execs). Well be happy, for the show's been picked up for a full season, which I assume to be the usual 22/24 eps.

Does it seem to anyone else think that the quality of writing varies wildly between episodes?. The first was pretty damn awesome as far as 'pilots' go but the subsequent episodes have been a little mixed. Some really good threads, some bad ones.

I can see this having massive potential but I can also see it falling on it's arse if they don't develop it properly.

It also borrows way too heavily from the likes of x-men and unbreakable (I know I said that this was a good thing but I'm not so sure now). I like what the writers have done with the ideas though.

No leggy I think you are analysing it too much! Just watch and enjoy the TV show. thats what its there for.

I don't think its borrowed too much from x-men or unbreakable. I think they have quite a unique view point especially with the plot lines.

I am really enjoying it.

so it seems one of the the peterlli borthers can consume other peoples powerrs for a breif time. one thing that bugs me, hiro meantion that he might be causeing a rift of some sort. does that mean in his time travel escapeds he fucked some thing up as well?

Only the younger brother can mimic the powers of 'mutants' in his proximity.
The older one flies, but it looks more like he "cannonballs" himself forward. His landing was pretty bad, either he's a newbie or he can't control his speed.

I'm thinking that Hiro was from a ruined future aswell. Else he wouldn't come back to deliver the message if things had played out right the first time.

it spans out in a similar manner to the film Unbreakable, basicly its about a bunch peeps (xmen if you want) who begin to discover they have powers ranging from doppleganger, regen, flying, fortune cookie type shit, mide wipe, mind reading, consuming etc slowly each heroes learns more about his/her skill and come in contact with one another oh and theres pleanty of peeps dying and things going b00m and the odd smack head chopping his hand off.

the brothers are bit confusing, the older one acts like he cares only for him self most of the time and in last weeks ep changes direction and going by the flash back would do anything for his little bro even when all is doomed, the younger kid did mention in ep1 that his bro cares about peeps, but it seems odd to me

We watched the first episode tonight and I thought it was very good. Great acting which surprised me (after all the hype about Supernatural, worst acting EVER!).

I will watch more.

I started watching this a few weeks ago, watched two Episodes and then watched the first ep of The Wire to decide which to watch first. The Wire won hands down and Heroes got put on the backburner.

Ran out of The Wire now and started back up on Heroes, haven't found it very gripping but it's growing on me (now Ep 6). It's enjoyable and will likely get a lot more fun to watch, but it didn't pull me in like people seemed to suggest it would.

Seems peter can do more than just temporarily borrow peoples powers, he can call on them at all, christ, he's going to be incredibly powerful, seems he's probably going to be the one fighting Sylar at the ultimatum!
Hiro's father isn't what I expected him to be I was expecting he'd have some sort of power like!

The sound lady heard a problem with Sylars heart, maybe he's taking on too many powers and it's beginning to put a strain on it. I'm thinking he's going to kill the Ted fellow, take his power but ultimately it proves too much for him to handle all at once with the strain on his heart and he pops, causing said nuclear explosion.
