iincrease your dex by about 30, otherwise you are just a celt s/s hero without the higher str for switching to LW

I went Luri for looks though not for the stats. I really really want DS for fun factor, had GoLM in mind but decided on DS instead. I like to wear emblem also and with SoM that isn´t a good choice hehe.

Don´t you think dex will be enuff? It effects evade and blocking? I will come down to pretty high dex with buffs anyway?

get dex as high as it will possibly go as a "shield spec" hero. i only have 75 dex with s/s equiped on my hero which is enough for me, but then i dont play guard bot :)
going by your spec (50 shield) i imagine you will be playing guard bot quite a lot, nothing blocks as well as a luwi hero with 50+rr shield 101 dex in temp and high aug dex.

anyway, its down to your playstyle, low dex is fine if you are soloing a lot or playing /assist but for a guard bot max it.

Was planning on bodyguard more then guard, if I however decide to respec my MLpath to Warlord I might need more dex. You have given me some to think about. Will poke around some more and see if I find some way to alter it.

Using crafted piercer + shield to cap dex and + shield, but im spec'd 42 shield and dont do much guarding anyway, and switching between crush ml10 wep and slash ml10 wep only.

The resists aint perfect but its doing fine for me atm :p.

Still if aiming for warlord you also have wrong spec as you would need to lower your shieldspec and make the 1h weap higher spec to land slam better.

My spec is 50 LW, 42 shield 39 blades, rest parry.

parry will be more or less nothing, but that dosent matter atall in a group!

Isn´t shield "weaponskill" hidden? I was under the impression that the chance to land slam came from qui/dex (not much from those) and mainly from shieldspec. That the shield "weaponskill" would come from 1hand (blunt/pierce/slash) spec seems very dumb atleast, and I have been told that it was just a rumour that had been proven wrong by testing (haven´t done any testing myself or seen the testresults). I find it more beliveable that it comes from shieldspec atleast. I might be wrong though.

No, it is dependant on the weaponskill, so the more points you got into 1h the easier it will be to land slams, only thing dex raises is blockrate "Well.. and parry and maby evade", but you don't really have any need for that either in a group.

So.. if you go offensive you wont need dex atall really as you wont be defensive and thats the only thing Dex helps with.

So if offensive 50 LW or CS and 39 Slash/blunt or pierce and 42 shield will be the best spec.

high Qui will be good to have both to get high speed on LW/CS and fast slams.

And I also thought as you did once, but to raise probability of hitting slam it's the main weapon Level that matters.

Where can I find info in the matter, have to read up on it a bit it seems. I have had no problems landing slam in PvE while lvling, have landed my shield styles alot more frequent then my blunt styles. I thought that was because I had alot higher shield spec then I had blunt spec. My str have been higher then my qui/dex while I lvled from 35ish and forward since I have chosen to cap my str and skills mainly, then con and hits and after that qui/dex/resists in that order. Have been using drops, aurulite and questreward items.

Well your str should still be high, preferable capped, but it will be much more useful getting high Qui then Dex, as it wont help you "if going offensive".

you will have to check up where to read the info yourself though, I have learned this through feedback from many friends though, so I couldent tell you where to check it up.

I doubt it wouldent be accurate as I havent known them to be wrong before and I havent had any problems when playing either, and Im RvRing much, so should have noticed if it wouldent have been good.

Yeah! that is why I concentrated on capping in the order I mentioned, but my point was I performed styles (slam) more sucessfully with my shield then I did with my 1hand weapon even though I had higher stat working for the weapon. That lead me to believe that shieldspec, and not 1hand spec, had a factor in shield "weaponskill". Wich is what I have heard to be the case from others also. Is there a site where I can find reliable info in the matter?

From what I have heard, you wont gain anything from having higher shield, in the means of slamming, and you raise that chance from raising your 1h skill.

As I havent read this myself I can't be 100% sure, but I havent gotten wrong info from my Friends so far.

I don't know what site if any gives this info Im afraid, maby someone else do, or if anyone belives Im wrong they could also correct it here, but from the info i have gotten it is this way.

I have to try finding more info on the matter somehow, would be good to know if I should lower my shield to 42 (or maybe 45 for tactics in the 1.81-patch). If I find any site that discuss the matter I will link it in this thread.

Oka will check it out, would have to remake the next template abit if so ;D sounds strange as more or less all specs I have seen people use have been 50LW/CS, 42shield, 39 Blade/blunt/pierce, and if the Slam was from shieldspec then that spec would be pointless.

Still if it's the way you say I would have to change the Template and even the Spec abit.

you want fast damage output imo, so you shouldent lower Qui, with LW/CS the weaponspeed is low enough as it is, more Qui to hit faster is better then Slower weaponspeed with alitle more damage imo.

well will have to check some threads and see if they all agree on it, still only thing that is abit important to me is the slam, I will have my hero Offensive so main thing is still damage output for me.

But if it is as in the thread Im reading I should raise the shieldskill, but for me it's still more important having high Qui then dex as Im going for damage output and CS, and in CS you have the snare.

and Energy is important, try to get 20+ if possible, trust is less important so if you can decrease that abit and get more Energy, still want trust above or atleast 20, but not many using that damagetype, heat is also less important as there aint many using that damagetype either.

LW weapon skill is not low once you go past 400 str, i have between 2100 and 2200 weapon skill with LW, havent played my hero in a while so cant remember exact figure.
Slam is based on shield spec and dex only, has nothing to do with str or 1h skill, its a waste of time speccing 1h weapon past 6 (for blades) far better of putting those points into parry to add to your defence when guarding/BGing.

well for me parry is pointless, I will be offense and warden will be BGer, so the only thing Im interessted in is to have get slam effective, as I will only use S/S mode for that, otherwise Il use CS and there have the snare style.

So in my comming Temp the offensive part is the most Vital thing and other things come in second hand.

Still if it is as it says on vnboards, I should change mine to only have add to shield in template, because if as it says it's pointless with more to 1h.

Still I think I will have to test it abit myself ;D I never just change something from just seeing some posts, better to test it out for urself abit ;D
