I need some Feedback for my LW Template. Is this any good or should i skip some resists and get more quickness...parry..LW etc? I only want to do Group RvR with him.

Hmm i could only replace Energy Resists with 28 Quickness. Both doesn't fit in. Tried different Templates with Quick/LW and always fucked the whole thing up. Any Ideas? :)

SI Times were easy. It was possible to cap everything without much problems but now..... :D

It looks okish on paper, good resists but lowish hits and con.

Personally I would get winged helm in there. The charge is 5 min duration and 10 minute reuse. Really to good to miss out on for a BG'er.

Also I would dump dreamsphere, Put in Erie darkness stone it has like 90 utility.

I made the following in 5 minutes, really cheap template, no hard items to get. Main strengths are;

- Very cheap
- Winged helm
- Oglidarsh belt (nice group abalative charge)
- an extra 120 hits
- still good resists.
- 80 qui, will help the swing speed of that weapon alot.
- 44 af

I have pretty much similar template as Ballard, only replace 2nd Grimeil with Ring of Heavens, Naxos Bracer with CB str and EDLS with GoLM. My template has lower heat resistance and energy resistance, but I have energy resists crafted on shield. I also use an MP helm as an alternative for WH, more solid resists and better shield stats with it for more efficient slamming.

I would definitely try cap quickness and LW. If you miss points in LW that's the same as missing stat caps, which makes rare cap items kinda pointless if you're willing to lose points in LW too.

I'd also recommend trying to make an any-weapon template, I can switch between crush/slash/thrust/matter/energy LW without losing anything essential. Only thing that bugs me in my template is some low resists (heat, energy, matter). I blame GoLM for it, but I like the capped dmg bonuses and cure RI :(

- 156 hits is very low. I certainly wouldnt be happy with that.
- A lack of 40ish af will also make a significant impact, almost the same amount as a spec AF charge. This coupled with no WH to nerf enemy style damage means you are going to be getting hit alot harder than you should be.
- No good charges to use to enhance your surviabilty or the groups.
- Plaited hair of malamis really isnt that good for a LW temp. alot of wasted dex. Once you take out the stuff that wont effect you Belt of the brute has better util and is 1/10th of the price. Ring of silent oblivion isnt that flash either, At first look it has good util but then you have to realise matter and energy really arent needed for a heavy tank fg rvr temp. Ring of heavens is superb if you can afford it, if not band of shadows or grotesue ring are nice.
- Cap Melee resists, body and cold. Then get good hits. Then worry about heat and spirit. And at the bottom of the barrel is energy and matter, only get them in if you can afford too without impacting on anything else.

I dont mean to be critical but lets take a difference of 170 hits. Im guessing you have around 3000 hits. That effectively counts as an extra 5.6% resist to all damage types. Why even bother capping resists if that is your rational?

Having a weaker template might be okay if you had some superb charges to help your group/yourself but in this case you really do not. It is very boring in terms of charges. Sok is nice sure but nothing else there at all .

I have rvred against heros post the patch changes (they are a dime a dozen on the US servers) and dont think you are invincible, 2 assisting casters will still take you down no problem. Will extra hits/charges save you? probably not in most cases but there will be the odd situation where they will.

what toons is the hero for a luri the first template is ok, for any other you'll need more quickness.
aslo about first template no need for winged helm as you have erines hauberk & malice as twohanded, voila you got 2x50% imune +50 all stats charges wich should be enough.
now that being said, dex is a waste in a lw template it has no use, 200 hp is to low, also you miss 3 lw as for skills..
here is mine expensive though.
now i know my template is missing anouther 150 hits to be realy great but this is ok.

a note on dex in template it does very little for blocking, +11 sheild does alot more block then 75 dex & the real winner in is mastery of blocking

Yea nice but all those items need to be farmed or i have to buy them. And i really cba anymore to pve. I made some minor changes to the first template i posted. Maxed LW and quickness and dumbed energy and matter resists. Hitoints are at +200 now and this is the best i can do with the items i have.´

Dex does however improve chances to slam almost equally well as +shield in terms of imbue utility usage. Wouldn't SC that dex on feet though, maybe put +6shield and more dex on shield, would free some utility on feet.

Still as he said, even with abit lower hits he wont be the ne going down first in the group usually, so I agree that it wont matter much for a hero atleast 200/200 is nice to have.

I myself would never replace SoM with feathered.
And on a Hero I would use Eirene's.

And even of those resist are less important, rofl at Energy and matter tbh, you don't want to insta die if you encounter a WL.

If you where CS I could give you a really good Template.

you should really consider dropping dex alltogheter, focus on:

101str cap - weaponskill :eek:
400hits, 101con - survivability
101quickness - increases damage alot, you can kind of say that is "stacks" with strength, as you will hit faster, and do closer to cap with str.

10% style dmg, 10% melee dmg, 10% melee spd

(this is if you do PERFECT template, impossible.)

And include Shades of Mist if possible, maybe Winged Helm if you think that you need the extra melee immunity(imo not necissary).
Ceremonial bracer (free grapple!)

Reason to drop dex is because:

How often do you really guard in rvr?,
do you buy mastery of blocking?,

(if you are main assisted by for example 2 mercs, you wont block very much for yourself, once attackers go over 3 for a large shield user, you will have a penalty in blocking, and it is then better with alot of hits/con, so you can strafe, and get heals easier.)

Also very important imo, is to leave out 2h slot when scing, its _really_ nice to have a selection of weapons to use, it is in most cases most effective to start the fight with a Celerity LW weapon, then once it has procced its 1min celerity, you switch to Malice. (procc is just too awsome to leave out)

Last , the resists overlooked (you need to skimp something in a spellcraft):

Body (common dmg type, cc duration).
Energy (alb cc duration, rc rm aoe/base dd, and thane!) - note you can skimp this and do ok, cause you have det4-5, and stoecism (sp?)
Spirit (ice Theurg pet spam dmg, necro dmg, sm pbaoe to mention some, you will usually get this up in ~15% or so naturally, by useing si-necklace or so and its nice if you fight zergs alot - ice pet spam)
Heat (fire wizards hurt :( even with 50% they still hurt, lazy steathers that dont bother switching from their heaters also hurt with this at 0)
Matter (some cc duration, warlock damage type)
Slash (enough said, cap it!)
Thrust (savages mainly)
Crush (crush mercs are around, and some zerks that prefer to not do as good dmg still specc this, commonly used to skalds too, valkyrie pbaoe style dmg too!)

just something i wrote down as im curious why so many people are capping resists like matter, or energy to some extent, when you can pretty much skimp those for now (atleats untill earth wizards are fotm)

Dropping Dex all together is bad, you want o be able to get about 75/75 in shield mode for slam, with that dex you wont hit sh*t with slam, excuse my language.

Have had many different Temps, one without dex also, and slam to hit stinks when dex is to low.

Can PM me and Il send you my CS Template, even though you will use LW it might help some maby dunno, wont make an LW Template until if I would ever change to that again =P

CS is still best for groups imo, LW will be better if soloing some though.

even with that dex differance its pretty much a non issue when you got annihl, wich has higher tohit, and very easy to get off, and slam still works perfectly fine with just ~200ish dex

and no, cs is not worth it, giveing up annihilation, wich is one of the best 2h styles to get slightly more dmg against alb and mid chain (soon to be nerfed too! -dmg bonus that is). you get back snare tho, but stun > back snare.

Also alot better choices of artifacts.

no, slam aint good atall if you skip dex, even though I can agree it aint as important if you have Annilation, it's still nice to have slam as an anytime stun.

I went with no dex for a while and it sucked.

and only time you need to cap matter nowdays if is you solo, because warlocks wont do enough damage to instakill you in grp rvr, had several warlocks try that already on my bm wich runs with ~10% matter + 16% from buff

Again maby so, but better to have high Matter yes, those nerfing some resists will just take unnessesary damage if they do face the classes makeing those damage types, and I know you can get both other stats and resists high, so why nerf anything.

Those nerfing some resists as low as I have seen just can't make Templates well.

i didnt notice more flat out "misses" when i tried slam w/o dex, even on champion ive had no problems, only penetrateing defences are a problem, wich is really a HUGE gamble, personally i never ever even try to slam someone from front as its usually just a waste of endurance, but i guess if you prefer to play more layed back and put less effort into your game style dex might actacully be a little usefull

because you gain more damage, and more hitpoints when you are not faceing those classes that do matter damage or energy dmg (mainly warlocks, and runemasters, and most of them time that is against zerg, most of the fights nowdays are actacully fg's, and most groups do not contain a rc baseline singeltarget spamming runemaster (nor aoe nukeing), or a warlock

I am CS atm, slam is 1 good way of stopping the enemy and yes I use it and want it to hit often, so I get 2 ways of stopping the enemy, slam and Snare thats in CS backstyle.

As I said, why nerf anything that you really don't have to, I have a solid Temp with all resists high and all other things good also.

101 str, all melee capped, 80 con, 80 qui, 200/200 hits(is enough on a hero for sure)
Lowest resist is energy at 20

you are welcome to post your 26% resist template with no weapon equipped, 101str, ~90con, ~90qui, 350hits

oh and ~75dex too, because you choose to not run thru in the back of enemys, so you can save up more spellcraft-slots to have anything else.
