but for me nothing beats the true old blues,
from when they took people off the street and all they had was an old guitar and a microphone. and you know that that shit is genuine:

the likes of Blind Willie Johnson and co

That is fair enough bud, I know it isn't everyones cup of tea.

I saw Extreme at the International II in I think it was 1990. Nuno warmed up by playing D'yer Maker. We swooned at bumblebee we did..but !

Compared to my choice, Mr J.Page, nuno, vai and the rest - technically on another planet but sheesh its about da riffs man, and time, the 70s was just the guitar decade. Zep were one if the most sampled band in early hip hop for a reason, but you know that :)

and Neil Young simply for Like a Hurricane.

Zep rocked, shame about the cash-in comeback tbh.

Slash aint even in the same ball park as Hendrix.

Slash was nothing out of the ordinary. Sure he made some great sounds in Guns n Roses. I'll give you that.

Personally, I'd rate Kirk Hammet a far far better guitarist than Slash

What about Gary Moore. Eric Clapton ? Santana ? Steve Vai ? Joe Satriani ? Yngwe Malmstrom ? James Hetfied ? Dave Mustaine ? (ok Megadeth is pushing the boat out a bit, I know)....Max Cavalera.....ok I'll stop now LOL

You all forgot (or never heard about) Steve Hackett! :)

He left Genesis in 1978, back when Phil Collins sat safely behind the drums, and they didn't play boooooooring pop ;)

One of my mates saw Satriani zipping past him on the motorway in his yellow lamborginhi, that must of been surreal.

Oh and if we're talking about British guitarists for me Peter Green takes the biscuit, he was basically Fleetwood mac pre 70s. BB King once said of him "He’s the only one who gave me the cold sweats." Although i absolutely love Clapton, this man is something else.
