Hi,
I have a Belkin 54g Wireless Router and use NTL as an ISP. We have a cable modem with NTL. I was having loads of Packetloss using the Wireless, so ended up using a cable to connect to the Wireless Router. This solved the Packetloss problem.
However, I also was having huge Response Time problems on the wireless, so I thought that by using a cable it would solve this. It hasn't. I now connect direct to the router which is then connected to the modem. I tested the connection last night by connecting my PC direct to the Modem and the connection is perfect. The response times are as follows:
When PC is cable connected to Wireless Router +2000 mps
When PC is cable connected to NTL Modem (wireless router not on network) 29mps!
Anyone got any thoughts? Before I took the wireless router off the network I disabled all other users - I did hear a very loud moan from my flatmate who was downloading at the time. This had no effect on the response times, so I do not think it is a Bandwidth problem.
Cheers in advance for any help.
