And don't persuade them either, let them make up their own mind. I've not disuaded anyone, I've merely stated my opinion on the matter, as have the others who aren't all for it like you are.
Indeed.

I'm not actually trying to put anyone off using the program - as you rightly say it doesn't "hurt you" (depends on your measurement of "hurt" really).. I'm just putting across my "alternative" point of view which is no less/no more valid/right/just than anyone elses.

What?! Thats like saying "Don't dissuade people to kill others with knives"

Jesus man, there is always a point in trying to persuade others to do something that may help others.

At the risk of prolonging this argument even more - the notion that its "something that may help others" is entirely your own, and WPKenny's etc - which is something I personally (and I assume others) don't agree with. Just because you believe something is worthwhile doesn't mean to say I do, or that other people do. Just because you believe in it doesn't make it right.

I should probably quantify that before its taken out of context.. I fully support, believe and pray for the ongoing quest to find a cure for cancer - I just don't personally believe that UD is the answer.

I'm not trying to dissuade or persuade anyone - I'm merely putting my personal opinion of UD, etc across. Whether you choose to agree/disagree with that is your concern - but the immutable fact of the matter is that neither one of us is necessarily 100% "right" since "rightness" itself is ultimately subjective... or something.

Nobody knows whether UD will help find a cure for cancer or not. It's purpose is to examine positive reactions between molecules and a target protein. It may be a dead end, it may not. If anybody was certain about the outcome, resources would be either ploughed into the research, or diverted to another study.

Use it if you want, or don't if you don't want to (or can't 'be bothered'). You may, or may not, be helping find a cure for cancer, but at least you'd be trying (though 'trying' seems beyond a lot of people...unless they're sure of the outcome)
