Headphones....

So ive been using my headphones for the past 4 years, talking to people on teamspeak, last week i dl mumble and install it and my headset wont work in either mumble or TS. got creativ fatality HS-1000

If the headset is not your default audio device in windows, you'll need to tell mumble and TS to specifically use it. There should be an option in the audio setup part of the programs where you can select the input and output device. It's the most likely thing I can think of with a usb headset, as the default device will usually be your onboard sound. If that's not the issue, maybe try checking for software updates for the headset, or possibly reinstalling the software for it.

I didn't want to spend a great deal on some and bought these, for PC gaming.

hmmmm something went pearshaped when installing mumble i think, after i uninstalled mumble the computer identified the headphones and installed the drivers and now works in TS.... Will reinstall mumble again later and see if same crap happens again.
