Just wanted to know if anyone here felt like joining me and a few friends for a 14 day trial of LoTR online? Haven't set any date or so, but could add eachothers msn for a quick gettogether some time.

I tried downloading it a few days ago, but I didn't have the patience to wait. I may download the trial again tonight though.

I played it for a bit when it came out, it's ok if you enjoy PvE and quests (which I know some people, I'm not judging), but I got bored of it and I am a rather big (but not obsesive) Rings fan as well. I can see it being good fun if you have a regular group of friends though, but I only really like RVR tbh.

Its probably a huge difference now and back then.

I`m playing it a lot and although I´m definitely a PvP guy, I love it.
It has SO much flair and atmosphere compared to other MMOs. Yes, it´s (mostly) PvE, but all the fluff is a pretty good compensation.

Feel free to ask me if you need hints or advice.

I've just started playing, I'm on Eldar, usually on my minstrel named Yrena. I've got a retail key as i got the game for a late christmas present, but i'm on a trial at the moment, so i get 44 free days instead of 30 :)
quite liking it so far, though a few people to play with would be more than welcome

Well dunno what they done with Lord of the rings online, the only game i get motionsickness from, tried it on 10 different comps with different setups and gfx cards, all just makes me wanna puke when i play for a few min.

well, i've got a much lower system (p4 2.8 dual core, 2gb ram, radeon hd4670) and I'm running 1280x1024 everything on, including dx10 effects. Only gets the odd slowdown from loading, and that's not that often

Yeah, Turbine did really great with the LotRO engine. It's in the same vein as WoW, everyone can run it on their PC City computer with no problems and if you have a midrange system you'll have no problems maxing it out.

Age of Conan should have learned :p

Looks like we're going to have a few playing at this rate. Any plans to get a kinship (lotro's version of a guild) going? i can probably stick a basic website and forum up somewhere if anyone has any serious plans for one.

Easily on of the best mmo's ive played... sadly none of the dudes i play regulary with agreed :(
Plenty of (PvE) things to do with awsome atmosphere and fun quests. The highend lacked some itemization when i played (over a year ago) but should be fine now with an expansion out on the shelves...

Have fun guys :)

Played it with a full account on some tank guy up to lvl 30 but it didn't last for me mostly because i only had some random guild i joined to talk to and play with, and partly because there is no real pvp.
Been looking for some game to hop onto though and LotR:O is quite fun.

I'm playing on Eldar, got a level 11 minstrel. Don't mind re-rolling if everyone's going with a different server, didn't take long to get that far really, and worth it for getting some people to play with.

Ive still got an active account on Evernight for LOTRO, got a loremaster.

Pop on and play every now and then. Really nice stuff added and Moria is nice. Really enjoy the pve on it, especially groups, its really good.

graphically its superb and some of the locations look just beautiful

If you pick evernight let me know and ill pop on and give you some cash :)

any good class for soloing ?

Every class is able to solo. With the addition of warspeach, the minstrel is probably the fastest solo-class (basically turns your minstrel into a damage dealer and you can switch back to healing if things are going out of hand).

Loremaster is the typical pet class, kinda like Chanters, Spiritmasters or Sorcerers in DAoC. If you know how to play a pet class, you will enjoy the Loremaster.
