Aye i just read that this morning too :) It looks absolutely stunning in my opinion. Only problem is hype can seriously damage a game before it's even released.

Lets hope they stay on track and keep the gameplay and story progression as sweet as Half-Life without getting too excited about the physics.

Oh and fingers crossed for a new version of Counter-strike mod complete with rag doll physics, working vehicles and all the other spangly bits Half-Life 2 includes ;)

Whats the current status of Condition Zero, the single player version of CS Valve were showing off a while back, is it still in the pipe or shelved in favour of HL2?

pcgamer says it comes out this autumn.

hmmm, i dunno. I'm a bit sceptical. Half-life prided itself on its revolutionary graphics engine and its stunning gameplay. TBH there are plenty of games that beat Half-life 2 in the graphics department already (in the pipeline...Deux Ex, H+D 2), so it aint that impressive. Plus the amazing gameplay of the original will be hard to beat. HL 2 has got a lot to live up to.

Main problem is indeed that it has a truly frightening 'history' to live up to. The hype around this game is going to be insane nearer the release date, even if Vale try to actually limit that.
Ah well. Deus Ex 2 4tehwin.

Minimum spec is said to be a 700Mhz system, of course you don't get all the spangly bits but you can still enjoy the gameplay....and apparantly it runs ok on min spec system

argh, i played the leaked demo of doom 3 and it was a bit smelly. I mean i can cope with the copius graphics lag cus i realize its a 'demo' but the linear crappy level design is soooo boring. Baddies are cool though:)

bah deus ex sucked.

half life 2 has apparently been in development since right after the release of the original. it wont fail.

and ye the recommended spec will be high. but with a p4 2.8 and 1 gig ram + gf4 i dont think its gonna be a problem for me :)

ARGH?!?!? No way matey! Deux Ex is by far one of my favourite games of all time. An FPS RPG! It brought a tear to my eye...

I prefer AMD

Oh well, my computer will finally be at the minimum spec for a game. That feels wierd, reminds me how long I've had this piece of junk :p

single player games suck. only good thing about half life was cs. and that sucked imo.

half-life was fun in multiplayer when it was new.... atleast i thought so

PC Gamer also said CS:CZ would be out before last Christmas.

Most games are fun multiplayer. CS is the nuts. LAN is better than internet. Nothing like killing people in the same room to you with a knife or a glock and hearing them scream out in frustration.

Btw for a taster of CS:CZ get CS 1.60. You get the shields and new weapons etc. (Steam required.) But in my opinion old style was better than this. Maybe because you need to get used to the newer stuff.
But with Half-Life there's always "h4x tbh."
Did you hear about that profession scripter who cracked an anti-cheat program in a few hours? :p
