There appear to be hundreds of guilds in the game at the moment with less then a full group of regular players. I was wondering what the interest might be like in forming up a new guild (rather then forming an alliance as I'm sure most are already in) where we take in entire guilds rather then recruiting individuals. The aim being to form a core of older players with experience and charisma (meaning nice people)...

wouldn't want to be leet or uber... just big and able to handle ml's, arti's, rvr, etc...

Not forming it right now, just interest ed in how much interest there might be if I were to seriously go for it... have been discussing it with some from my alliance.

There are many guilds who already do this, or atleast from my POV I've seen examples of previous rather large guilds, reduced to small size guilds after a few months becuase of playerbase or whatnot, and merging with larger guilds with a more profound RvR approach, an example of this would be TP and SS merging, which I think helped both guilds out in RvR as they were lacking in RvR presence. I think theres a certain point whereby you have to take care and not over-recuirt people from small guilds, becuase it may have an effect on the balance of the guild between PvE/RvR.

A large guild is much difficult to lead then a smaller guild. That means you have to make more leaders in the guild who has the same thoughts about organizing the guild.

I am the main GM of TEW. In the past there have some smaller guilds merged in our guild.

I have made 4 people GM and 2 co-GM and 10 officers (with different tasks)

And my management people are older people. You dont need people who are childish your guild will suffer.

Our oldest GM is 54 and youngest 26

The Guild is still growing. But for a big guild you need also a good policy otherwise your guild will suffer.

Its the spirit that counts for some guilds, not the numbers, and then it can be hard to find the right ppl, but well, my guildname should give you an idea of what i mean :)

BTW Merging is OK if the situation is right, when we were having number problems in GoL we had an offer from GoA for us to merge into them. This was refused on the basis of the loss of 6 million bps.....
