Hello everyone.

I have a problem with my BB-computer, it's a P3 800Mhz 512MB RAM and Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB.

I get Grapical Errors once andawhilem the graphics become distorted and after awhile you can't see a thing on the screen.

When I exit daoc Windows also have some grapical erros, the icons on the desktop is somewhat distorted to.

The error can come after 10 secs of gaming or 10 hours, it's completely random as far as I seen...

The only thing to do in this situation is to restart the computer.

Does anyone know what this is? is my Grapicscard broken or is my drivers faulty, i have the most recent drivers from ATI. I'v had this problem with several diffrent version of my drivers...I'v upgraded when new drivers have been released

Yes I concur with Soulfly having had the same problem when I "upgraded" my 9800pro heatsink and fan to the artic cooler (the original ati fan died).

The solution I'm using right now until I can afford a new card is to underclock the memory using the "VTunner.exe" application which you should have got with your card (its downloadable from ATI's webby anyway) - and take the memory clock speed down to the minimum (610 Mhz on this card down from 690Mhz IIRC). The decrease in framerate (for me at least) wasn't noticable - but it seems to stop all the artifacts appearing all the time. The only slight pain is remembering to do it each time I boot as there doesn't appear to be a way to tell the card to default to the lower memory clock.

my old ati 9700 pro had the same problem, so i gave it to my bro and bought myself a 9800xt :p not the point but,

my bro found that heatsink plate wasn't actually making contact with the GPU, u c, the thermal had burned away, he adjusted the height of the heatsink plate so it made contact with the GPU and added some arctic silver thermal paste (must clean heatsink up 1st, nail polish remover works great) then replaced it all, the card worked super after, could even over clock it. Would recommend u try that, must know what ur doing tho for obvious reasons.

I couldn't be arsed to do anything to it myself, as it still had warranty left (around a month+ or so) so took it back to the shop and ended up with a 9800pro AIW as 9700pro AIW's were quuuuuuuite out of stock, as they aren't made anymore :X Atleast not Sapphire \o_
