LOL many thanks m8 hehe, triple posts now? l333t
Yeah good idea. I noticed u posted that lot in the other thread, I have the stuff I need now, just waiting for the actual game to arrive on me doorstep!
Well then, when we have this big 22 car race, are we gonna have qualifying? I don't think we should, since nobody will be able to get within 107% of my times
Look here Mr Diniz, you should show more respect to those that will be lapping you twice during the race
If your lucky i'll go slow past you so you can perhaps sketch out my Ferarri's aerodynamic curves so that you may apply them to your shitty Sauber! Then again, seeing as you'll be facing the opposite direction i may not be able to go slow enough
Its playable by dialling into to a remote server (i.e. another pc) to play on, same as before tho - using tcp/ip.
However, its still the best game i have seen, fuck the internet, its not as if anyone played gp2 over the net, and gp2 is still more popular then the net enabled GPL.
even stick me in a forti I shall still kick all your asses.
Ugh and who mentioned prost? Being a huge Alesi fan prost is NOT my favourite team atm. Bunch of not leting a supremely talented driver qualify higher than 17th arse.
Its quite simply the best racing game to look at, play, and simply look at some more. Its perfect. Netplay or not, this shall keep me off the net for quite a while, Its class in a pot.
I may have it now, but im certainly going to slip geoff and his team a well deserved 40 quid this friday.
Thought I'd post this little bit of info gleaned from Voodoo Extreme;
Network play is supported for up to six players simultaneously via a Local Area Network. It is possible to play with up to 22 players, but this is not supported due to current hardware limitations, and the need for high-spec systems to be able to run such large network games. TCP/IP play over the internet via analog modems is not currently supported due to the low transfer rates.
Doesn't sound too good to me, will let the lemmings test it first, then decide.
No modem play? Shame. So, who's coming to i5/6 then, so I can get out my kb skills and smack j00 down Btw, I've shockingly played a warez version. But never fear, tis already pre-ordered, so Mr Crammond gets his fat pay packet, and I get a clear conscience And you know what? It really is rather gooood...
In fact, I shall do you a quick review Bear in mind this is NOT the final final ver, a week or so prior to gold.
Physics: Well, I wouldn't say it has as complete a physics model as GPL, you get the feeling that GC has programmed more of a set response to certain inputs, so it 'feels' right. This can lead to some unrealistic things, and some slightly 'canned' spins. However, the general 'feel' is good, wet or dry, and the physics of the rolls are great (can you tell i crash a lot :E), looking just like they do IRL, such as Diniz as Nurburgring last year, Wurz in Canada year before. So in general, physics are a plus, altho they are beaten by GPL, which is still in a class of its own.
AI: Aha, a great improvement over GP2. This time the AI actually seems to know you're on the track, and will 'cover' lines into corners. I have yet to see any bugs with the AI, such as missing the pitlane as seen in GP2, but then I've only had the game a day
Gfx: Initially, seem a bit bland and rough, especially compared to F1 2000. However, you soon get used to it. One point that eeds to be made is the absence of 'pop-up', which does not occur on any part of any track, which makes a change. Refelctions off wet surfaces are fabby-poos, but I'll deal with that in a seperate section All in all, pretty tasty gfx.
Weather: WOOHOO! Wet weather, properly variable too. It can be raining on one side of the track, not on the other. Tyre tactics MEANS something. Toughing it out on inters could make or break you a race as the dry line develops. Wet tyres overheat, and can be cooled by driving on damp parts of the track. The line dries where the cars drive, slowly. In short, its the best out there by a long way.
Summing up, this is the best modern F1 game there is. Best driving simulation? No, I think that still stays with GPL, where every complete lap feels like a battle won
oh gpl
did i say nascar in drag
well it's a bit better
the graphics are stunning
old spa 12 racers
lap 4/5 4th place
