Only "advice" I can give you is: be yourself and live up to what you are if you're interested in her and not just in sex. If it doesn't work out, then she was just the wrong one. If you fuck around and try to be something you are not and it doesn't work out, chances are good that you fucked around too much .

Typical mistakes to avoid in my opinion if you want more than just sex:

spending money (buying drinks, tickets for cinema and stuff),
drinking together followed by sex.

If you smell some really strange behavior, check if it's really worth the trouble. Find out if the girl got only raised by her mom or dad and how it went for her, if she ticks strange, then you will have to put a lot of work into a relationship.

You forgot that his opening was that he was shy, forum's are an unintrusive way of getting the answers you need without having to face up to the true questions. If you read into what he originally said, what he is looking for is courage and conviction of himself. for not having that insight

Oh no, I remember being in the same boat. (About 10 years ago). It's not even the age factor here that strikes me as amusing. Everyone learns sometime.
