Errrm Cyra, the hacker talks in an open letter, so there must be a hack. A couple of cuuldurachs in Emain dont strike you as odd ?

those are the admin commands for a daoc EMULATOR not the mythic servers.

bottom line is no1 knows exactly how the mythic servers are administered ("GM commands" etc), apart from those who actually adminster them (mythic CSRs, GOA, etc).

Bad enough that someone actually managed to do this, but it would be worse if the way to do this was revealed.. dunno if I'm right, but that might be a kick in the nuts for daoc and loads of anti-cheaters would leave the game.. (worst case scenario)

Hope this turns out to be a one time incident atleast :)

3 german players got a permanent Ban cause they created a Griffin and took a relic from Mid to Alb. They just said their intention was to show that there are some serious security problems. But the statement given by Goa yesterday doesnt say anything. They have no idea how this coulld happen and they have no idea where the problem is.

Lets see what happens next days.

Quite scary tbh. Dunno if any of you played Diablo 2...but it really sucked. You couldn't play on the net unless your char was hax0red. Hope DAoC doesn't get anywhere near as bad as that.

If anybody has room (and the fast server) to host a 24 mb file I have a 5 minute movie on the epic mobs and the mid/alb battle that came after they left.

If someone can host PM meh with how to contact you please.

Scary thing is DAoC could turn into D2

One of the main reason most people pay to play this game is so people cant cheat yeah? (well its one of main reasons for me, i cant stand cheaters) then this gets blown up in our face.

Man if Mythic//Goa dont sort this out there will be MURDER!

Don't get all excited it's not that good... I captured the worst parts.. .both of the mobs and of the battle ...

Just that something is better then nothing

If I hacked the server, I would do my best to NOT attract much attention till I could do something a lot more useful that just spawning mobs about.

But if your intention was to draw attention to security holes, what better way to do it that spawning multiple unique mobs in the busiest multi-realm zone of the server?

/edit is a comand that does something but being a lowly mortal it doesnt for me cos it asks for params or summat i cant remember. But it does seem like a Jolly Good Idea to spawn the uber mobs in emain :)
