Thanks to whoever post the list of invite links (Will?) Works great in Thunderbird via POP, at last I can dump Hotmail and Outlook

lol My invite count has gone back up to 50 for the second day running, so if anyone else still wants an invite, just say and either I or some other kind soul will get you sorted out.

Hi guys

For those still interested I (and I'm sure many others ) still have 50 Gmail invites going spare.

On the eve of Gmail's first birthday Google have announced they will be incrementing the storage space to beyond 2GB. Present accounts have already been bumped to 1.15GB, together with the addition of basic HTML formatting (bullets, font colours etc.)

I signed up with them on the strength of that offer. Utter cack so far. Not only last week did they break down (at least my account did) for 4 days, they never bothered to respond to any emails nor did they have any Live staff to cope with my problem. Anoying seeing as i was migrating ISP at the time. Still for $2, bargains

1.257GB at the time of posting for me too, Will I think there's a counter of sorts on the Gmail homepage, though you may need to log out to see it.

yep there is a counter at the logon screen (which you also go to if you sign out).

and its 1295 MB atm , seems they will increase it to upto 2 gig and possibly more over time http://gmail.google.com/gmail/help/about_whatsnew.html

Counter now showing 2052MB and climbing, Id have expected it to stop at 2048MB.

I notice the counter on the login screen seems to have slowed down alot since Friday. Is it going to stop anytime soon?

200MB or so is all the space Im likely to need anytime soon, beyond that its just a 'mines bigger than yours' advertising game between Google/Yahoo/Hotmail. Doubt many folks were actually using the full 1Gb beyond the handful that would deliberately try to fill it 'because they could'.

Not that I don't appreciate the offer Dommers - I do, but you joined under a week ago and I don't know that you're not going to spam my address all over the net. I'm sure you wouldn't but I'm just a bit paranoid

Also, the invitation system seems pretty ridiculous at this point. There are so many invites available everywhere now, making it totally redundant being "invite-only".
