Gimped Infils?

Is infils gimped or not? How good is an infil compared to an SB?

I'm a level 50 Infiltrator, full 99'ish set fullt procced and SC'ed, capped in everything but some resists..

AND a buffbot, only lvl 32'ish though, but it rises my stats fairly much anyways.

Specc atm:
____________
35 stealth
35 Envenom
39 Crit.strike
50 Thrust
28 Dual wield.
____________

I port, I get my buffs on, I leave the TK, I get out on the field, getting ganked every single time, I have suceeded in killing people ALONE like 10 times or something, and I've spent countless hours in RvR

Rangers, Savages, Berzerkers, Chanters, Spirit masters, Shadow blades, warriors.. I can't kill a single one.

Reaching level 50, and trying RvR was a dissapointment.. all my efforts, just to find out that you fricking suck in RvR.

Does anyone feel the same, or is it just me?

Sincerely, Redips of the Dark Predators.

Nah, I think it is probably your choice of targets. Of all the ones you listed the only ones you should attempt are rangers...and SBs as well.

You should try running around in a small infi group to begin with until you get your bearings in RvR. Soloing on your first run into RvR can be kinda daunting and get you killed really quickly. :(

Stick to nice soft casters...preferably ones that don't have pets. ;) Avoid tanks!! Kay? Stay the hell away from them. ;)

Other than that all you can do is practice and be patient. Eventually you will figure out the best way to pwn your opponents. :D

My best advice is hunt in DF, its way more fun than zerg mania emain for stealthers. While stealthed you move slow, so u need to be able to have your targets constrained to within a nice small area to make them easy to get too, and also to have somewhere to run and hide behind, like nice thick cave walls. Planning is key of course, make sure you have a place to run too not full of mids/hibs :)

I hunt DF unbuffed, in epic armour, but with SC'ed weapons, and I average 2+ kills before I die. (nope not greys) usually 50's.

Pick your enemies: look for thrust weak armour wearers, it makes a lot of difference. Casters types without pets are usually the best, but even solo BD's are do'able, but use disease on them so their healer pets heals have minimum effect.

DF is aggro central, don't be shy about attacking a warrior who has just had a battle and is wounded, but be nice and make sure his hits are 50%+ otherwise its an xp death. We are asssassins after all, so being too nice is not part of the game :) Camp spots where even 50's get aggro from greens or blues. Wait for them to come through, use power, end etc, ideally sitting down, and then they are toast.

Although to be honest, fully buffed and SC'ed I must admit you should be doing better than you seem to be, I use the tactics i do coz I am not uber buffed or SC'ed (yet).

Just some thoughts.

You poor, poor Shadowblades. I feel your pain. I really do. :(

Now, why don't you fuck off and play your whiny, scratchy record elsewhere because nobody in Albion has even an ounce of sympathy for you. :p

It's not like prenerf LA made the SB's any more skilled either, Jaond. And I didn't see you whine about that.

That was how it should be

Thrust infil < sb with thrust resistant armor

Slash infil > sb with slash vulnerable armor

But thrust infil still had a chance same rr ofc cause of df, now a thrust infil just have to wait for evade -> dragonfang -> win!

Many people DID roll kobolds and are using low weapon spec, eg. below 50 base. A class that has only their melee shouldn't do that...

Could all of you just keep your whines to your self? This person is asking for advice. Either give it or be quiet.

First off, Redips. Don't go emain to begin with, you'll only get killed.

Some suggest grouping up, and sure - that works. But you don't learn your character properly doing that. ( you'll just pop out of stealth and start whacking, since the soloist is in a heap of trouble facing twice his/her numbers. ) And ofc I won't like you, since I solo :D

My suggestion would be to go to Darkness Falls. Practice on low level enemies ( yes, I'm encouraging grey-ganking here ) - or solo enemies that you run into. You have to learn your class first.

Learn how to get PA/CD in properly on moving targets ( takes a lot of practice to get it right 99% of the time ). However, since you're thrust spec, you might want to skip CD and hope for an evade. ( Depending on the target you pick ofc - lower level targets or real soft targets that won't let you evade - go for CD. Tanks / SBs etc - save for DF ( 'cause it's mostly an 'I-win' button as it is now - hipocrit infils will ofc whine at that statement, but forget about those for a while. )

Learn how to get away after a kill. Not as easy as it sounds, but the most vital aspect of being a stealther. ( unless you like to port, kill one target, get killed, wait for port, ad infinitum ). The RA Vanish will help you do that at times when things didn't go exactly as planned. ( Can also be used for a mid-fight PA if you don't think you'll need it later to get away ).

Learn which poisons to use when - and use your poisons. all the time. With that high envenom spec you should utilize everything you can to turn the battle into your favour.

If you're still losing, reconsider the weapons you are using. With 28+12 Dual wield you should swing both weapons roughly 52% of the time ( assuming they follow the same formula as Celtic Dual does ), gaining a haste effect when this occur. You can use that to use a slower main hand weapon, increasing the style damage when doing so; but then you'd have to use a faster off-hand weapon to have the same speed on average while swinging. Also note that BS/BS2/PA doesn't use normal growth values, so using a slower weapon for those won't give you much benefit; however - the other styles would.

And last - learn which targets you can kill and which you can't ( unless lucky ). Start with low RR soft targets, and work your way up :)

Good luck out there, and stay solo!

You forget that we don't get 2.5 specpoints per level. We -can't- spec 50 base without giving other things up.

My spec: ( RR5 spec )

35 stealth
44 axe
44 CS
35 envenom
13 LA

( yes, I'm a critblade )

If I had 2.5 specpoints per level I would go:

35 stealth
50 Axe
44 CS
35 envenom
22 LA

Notice the difference?

kk give 2.5 spec points/level then, its way to easy for an infil to get acces to the I win style

Thanks

Thank you all for you answers and hints, and btw I havent forgot to add DF to my quickbar..
Those LA'ers ganks me down before i even get a chance to evade.

I will try out DF, might be abit more fun than dying in emain all the time.

Heh, I played on hibbie some while I were in a "whining" period, I heard that the hibbies laughs at us Infils..

Quotes:

"Infils are rather gimped, arent they?"
"Its so easy to gank Infils, lol"
etc etc.

But thanks for the advices all.

Sincerely, Redips of the Dark Predators
