I'm waiting on the arrival of a 120 Gb Western Digital for my spare PC which also doubles up as my gateway/firewall. My parents also use this PC a lot and my dad has a lot of custom settings and hundreds of emails he wants to keep "as is", therefore reinstalling on the 120 Gb and trying to move all the settings/emails over would be pretty tricky and very time consuming on my part.

Is there a way i can 'ghost' the current install on the old 6 Gb drive onto the 120 Gb drive?

Any advice or suggestions welcome.

Cheers

edit - forgot to say it was Windows XP Pro

Yep, can't really go wrong with Norton Ghost.

They used to give a, not too crippled, version of it away with certain motherboards (They may still do, it's been that long since I upgraded :( ). Might be worth you asking system-builder types if they have a copy knocking about.

Firstly, Windows XP has a settings migration wizard.

Secondly, migrating emails and address books is easy too, simply tell Outlook where the old files are and it imports them.

I'd go for the fresh install.
