Not as terrorist as SF
Fuck me.

Do me a favour, go read some history.

The pro-Union Northern Irish were at times worse than the IRA (granted, not in the latter part of the 20th century) but they heavily contributed to the response which the extreme republicans had.

That's why it's hilarious that Jeremy Corbyn was slated for talking to the IRA (which the Government did later on which yano, led to the peace process) and then the Tories group with the DUP.

Something not many people have thought about is what will May concede to the DUP for them to give them their few precious votes? Could it upset the Republicans in NI?

The thing is, they only have to say they will support it with a caveat that they won't if May goes full retard, its not the same thing as a coalition.

It could end up back-firing spectacularly, if they later give up on it, especially if they face a progressive alliance.

Yes, but it's fairly obvious that May does not want to go anywhere, so therefore there must be a degree of communication and compromise on the cards.

She needs to pass a budget, I highly doubt that the DUP will pass one without some sort of agreement on another bill.

It could actually prove a benefit in itself with the border shenanigans and Brexit.

To be fair you can't claim something like that as fact then follow it up with "but I don't know much about it"

The DUP want assurances that NI will not be left hanging after Brexit, they are worried about the border and anything May gives them is bound to wind up the IR...sorry Siin Fein.

What is strange is that I expected social media to implode due to the result as it really really is not the best outcome for pro Brexit, but weirdly everything is weirdly calm....... where are the pro brexiters who went out of the way to rub the noses of the remainders in the outcome for many months... I wonder if that element of the populous actually understand what this outcome has done.... additionally Job apprears to be quiet today although still posting occasional tummy rubbish.. excellent day so far

Excellent day so far, how so? Sit back a for a minute and actually think what, if anything positive can come from today. Everyone has lost imo

Actually Moriath it started with this:
Not as terrorist as SF
So you were claiming to know enough that the DUP were "not as terrorist" as SF (in your view).

Then you didn't bother answering this:
Oh, so terrorist isn't defined by "blowing people up" - it's "blowing lots of people up".

So the terrorists in manchester and london were "less terrorist" than the DUP then. Right? Should we, like, let them off or something?

So, yeah, @Gwadien nailed it pretty much.

Don't worry, it's not personal.

I just think everyone who votes for the same party for no apparent reason is a moron, and they lap everything up like it's the Lords gospel.

I just find it amusing that people are chuffed to bits that they've got this alliance going, and they're the same people that called Corbyn a terrorist sympathiser.

Just -no- idea, just Daily Mail readers.

For the record, I voted Lib Dems, because I don't like gays.

Interesting fact. My sister voted Tory because Andrea Leadsom returned her phonecall and spent 30 minutes talking to her about a huge ass rail interchange they want to build near the village. She won by 20k or whatever buy I am glad I didn't vote for the bitch.

An alliance is never a good thing. Leads to weak government.

TBH, stupid fucking labour voters have fucked it all up for nothing.
They are no nearer power, we are now as weak as fuck in Europe, in bed with the Unionists, once all the cheering and fist punching for Corbyn dies down, we are gonna be like wtf.
Regardless of it being the Tories stupid fault for calling an election with such a weak candidate, Labour voters should have stayed in bed.
Yours ..Maggie Thatchers ghost.
