I think barrysworld has got off easy in terms of commercialisation.

If I was EB I'd have ads all over the place (skyscrapers and interstitials) as well as links to related items in the stores.

Commercialisation has to happen as BW is a business - businesses have to make money.

Well, I think it's all shocking. We should get back to basket weaving for orphans - like in the old days. I remember, back in the day when we used to.....onions.....a small hut.....charity based vodka...wibble.... (etc).

phone logos are gay....
i got my new 3310 after a while of saving and in a drunken state my mate thought it would be hilarious, when i was asleep (or unconsious), to send a logo to my phone that said GAYBOY. The thing is you cant get rid of them unless you ring up a pound a second phone line and d/l another.

no you cant delete them, trust me ive tried. They replace the network name and they stay there until another one replaces it. :(

I meant that if there was an offer: "Become a forum regular and get a discount on BW services", as Jas (jokingly) suggested, then loads of lamers would sign up and post loads in order to perceive themselves as a regular. Purely theoretical. Wasn't reffering to anyone (inparticular) in the slightest.
For what it's worth you're doing pretty well for a newbie, much better than I did back then :)

Mobile Phones are teh sux.

They are piss easy to nick, they make people want to nick them, round here a phone wouldnt last 10minutes in use in the open :)

They are primarily a waste of money and I have no use for one. Some people do have uses for one, and when I get a car I intend to get one, incase of break downs and such...

Much like summo!

Well yes, we understand some people aren't mobile mad. But some people are and invariably they're the same sort of people that play videogames online and pay through the nose for all the latest PC equipment...

Ergo we figured that setting aside some small space for logos on BarrysWorld was a good idea.

...Don't forget Jay, they are a waste of money (according to the chap above - maybe your friends calling you whilst you're out of the house are two unlikely variables) and after all, people will only steal them... So, we shouldn't get them until we get a car - (the most often stolen belonging after mobile phones;))

What's a waste to some isn't a waste to others.

On one hand many BW users will get a logo as a result of that page.

On the other hand others will be negative and spin the old commercialisation yarn - even though they clearly (by being online) have giving into a multitude of corperations already.

What a twisted world we live in.

Well, because I have a life. I have the new Angel Season 2 DVD to watch, Dungeon Siege to play, a mobile phone to download ringtones and logos for, Transformer toys to play with, porn to look at while touching myself, and a girlfriend to keep amused.

I just think Jayminator didn't deserve to be flamed by the L33T HAXXORs just for offering something they perceive as "sad". They don't want it, fine, plenty of people prolly do.

Newsflash fellas, the rest of the world tends to think us people who play online games and bitch at each other in forums are pretty sad...
