hmm, not sure what your trying to say here, but I can see 2 things, 1 - nuke damage and 2 - #hps cabas have.

So lets compare to say a runemaster!
1 - nuke damage
caba nukes (stats from camelotherald )
Baseline lifetap: Damage: 179 (Body), speed 2.5s
specline lifetap: Damage: 174 (Body), speed 2.5s
(yes thats right, caba is so uber our spec dd does LESS damage than base! woot!)

runemaster nukes
baseline dd: Damage: 179 (Cold), speed 2.6s
specline dd: Damage 219 (cold), speed 2.8s

Both classes have an option to spec and debuff their baseline dd damage, so so far caba is winning by 0.1s nuke speed, and ofc their attack steals hps - nice ability.

2 - hit points

Well hit points is all about your con and +hps from items I guess, so first of all starting classes: (stats from catacombs character builder

cabalist:
Avalonian: 45 base con
Briton: 60 base con
Inconnu: 60 base con
Saracen: 40 base con

Runemaster:
Dwarf: 80 base con
Norseman: 70 base con
Kobold: 50 base con
Frostalf: 55 con

So not a lot of difference here either, dwarf has 20 more con than any alb caster can possibly get, but cabas can lifetap ofc.

In the end its comparing apples and oranges but Im just trying to work out where you're coming from :)

Lets not compare a RM with a pet class :twak:

it was either that or spiritmaster, and I didnt want to compare with a pbae class.

Cabalist:
Baseline lifetap: Damage: 179 (Body), speed 2.5s
specline lifetap: Damage: 174 (Body), speed 2.5s

Spiritmaster

Baseline lifetap: Doesnt exist
Baseline dd same as runie
specline lifeta: Damage: 183 (cold), speed 2.5s

cabalist:
Avalonian: 45 base con
Briton: 60 base con
Inconnu: 60 base con
Saracen: 40 base con

spiritmaster:
Norseman: 70 base con
Kobold: 50 base con
Frostalf: 55 base con

so basically we have the old dispute as to whether its better to spec for a stronger dd and no variance, or go for the debuff, have to cast an extra spell but then hit for more damage once its up.

hmm why are you writing down the least important stat for caster

Cos I was replying to the original poster.

Now the only thing that I am aware of that gives casters hit points is con and +hits, and +hits are equal for every realm... so only thing that can possibly give cabas "too many hps" is their starting con, so I compared their starting con to mid casters starting con.

My guess is this isn't the real issue anyhow - the original poster was prolly trying to melee down a moc'ing cabbie or something, so prolly seemed like it had 4000hps.

Ever tried to melee a non moc spiritmaster when their pet goes intercept frenzy? And they dont have to spec or spend RA points for that :flame:

tbh, I prefer meleeing a SM rather than a cabby, being able to hit something > being chain stunned and watching your HP drain away.

well, ok fair enough each to their own, personally Id rather risk a few stuns and be able to keep the caster interrupted whilst mobile than get stunned slightly less regularly (sm pets stun too!) and not be able to hit (and therefore not interrupt) the lifetapper. :D
