Hmm, showing as £13.39 for me in the Steam client currently. I half-swear it showed £6.79 in the search drop-down before I clicked through to it though. Dynamic pricing shenanigans ?

It's gone back up mate, discounted but not as much now.

Is Tropico 4 any good? never played any of them. If so just the basic game for £6.24 or the bundle with DLC etc. for £12.97?

Unreal (Gold) and Unreal II both had great SP parts iirc.

I can't recall which ones I've played now. Think it was Unreal, Unreal Return to Na Pali or whatever it was called, and UT (original).

What are the others like? Anyone played?

Edit: To be honest though a repurchase wouldn't go amiss, I expect these newer releases work better on modern machines and I CBA to find my old UT folders :p

Yeah I think Return to Na Pali was a mission pack for Unreal and is included in Gold. I remember having fantastic amounts of fun with the early UT's (with bots and people) on a student house LAN with all the doors open and everybody shouting unpleasant things at each other. I think I've played up to 2004 and none of the newer ones since then.

At a fiver I may as well. Even if I only get two hours worth out of all of them together (probably will get more) it'll be worth it.

Steam won't let me login at all, claims every single time there is something wrong when there isn't.

It's shit like this that is the reason I hate Steam. It just doesn't FUCKING WORK

That was user error too.

Well, that and the fact that Valve needs to make it clear that to play offline you have to set offline mode at least once before you connection dies...

User error

Considering I only use one password and have just a few variants of it... no, there's no way I was entering the wrong password :D Steam just does this sometimes. The other reason I hate it is that they simply cannot get it to work with any security software - there's a list of over 50 (and they're all major) bits of security software on their website that are known for stopping Steam working at all. So when you go online with Steam, a lot of users have to disable part/all of their network security. Which... is... really bad.

I'm always having that trouble where my Antivirus software makes me type in the wrong password.

What router have you got? Steam used to have severe issues with certain Thompson and other routers which required the separate downloading of adjusted client files to work around.

Just the standard Sky modem/router. Doesn't make a difference what it is, had the same issues with Virgin before.

Well, I've used it as a user and in a dev environment. Some I'm probably far more aware of the issues that go on with it and how much of a headache it can be when it goes wrong.

When it works it's fantastic. A little bloated for my personal tastes, but it is a great platform don't get me wrong. But people paint it as perfect, which it isn't :)

Duly noted, all I'm getting at is having used it with a shit Sagem Sky Router and a Shit Thompson O2 router I've had the same issues as you which went away using that guide. On a decent enough Sky Netgear Router they never existed. You're bound to get more shit now with the increased traffic to the platform but if you get it all the time it can't hurt to give it a go.

Have you tried the TCP mode for example?
