funny that. In my 14+ years of playing rugby, ive never seen anyone with that attitude (well when I played pro I did but thats understandable).
You should see Cornwall, not sure if it is just my area but it’s retarded. Eat sleep breath rugby, you only go for the odd fight and general fun and half the club play for Cornwall and think there making pro.

I dont mind helping but the fact is hes a bit to young atm, best bet for him is to get some fighting skillz preferbly street fighting boxing is good for your stamina, been doing it for long time but things like boxing and crazy wrestling take downs mixed together = good street fighting

Or be like the crazy chav's that are round who pick off anything round them like metal bars and stuff. Wouldn't suggest that thoe

you can be blackbelt 40th dan in sume kung fu shit, or a treble A boxer but it still wont do shit against some coked up headcase. I used to do a bit of door work when I left college and ive seen all these bouncers who think they are something because they are a boxer or do martial arts, but when it comes down to it, they arent when faced with drugged up hooligans. Your average piss head is fair game because they are too wasted to even throw a punch, but drugged up idiots, best to give them a wide bearth and let the boys in blue handle it. I got threatened by one with what he called a "hyperdemic" needle. That is when I quit lol

Ages ago, while I wanted to make a nature druid video I made a little poem to introduce my pet and I came up with that:

A friend is someone you can trust,
someone who understands,
a fellow who in times of need
will hold you by the hand.

Sounds a bit oldschool, but that's how I see it =)

Bugz because of you’re size you will get hassle from people inside school or outside school, someone will always been trying to improve there thug rep in front of there g/f or mates or just being a general fucktard or chav. I would suggest you do some weight training and get some nice muscle and a bit of weight you can’t count on people to save you in fights or RL for that matter. If you want a training program just ask, I am sure Elkie doe’s training and would be willing to help you with stuff also.

Good bless weight training and being 6.3ft

I'm turning 16 early October and I don't think my body is properly developed yet (waiting to have an operation on my jaw but can't until 17/18 because its not developed properly etc.)

I'm thinking of starting Boxing, purchasing a 5-6 ft boxing bag and so on. I know a lot of wrist locks, pressure points etc from my dad (whos in the police and been in the prison service) but it seems as I go to see my gf (who lives very close to a rough estate) more and more small groups are approaching me.

I have a fair bit of muscle on my arms, from slight weight training (stopped when i heard it wasn't right to do) and a lot on my thigh, from long distance running and football.

What I did notice on ebay was push up grips that were very cheap (~£5-6). I have trouble doing push ups and exceedingly large weights on one hand because my mum has given me the curse of the small wrists and it generally puts a lot of pressure on them. Are push ups any good?

But boxing is defiently something I want to start up on. I only want something to use as a defensive weapon and to maybe buy me some time before I run the fuck away (long distance runner ftw ^^).

I defiently won't start proper weight training till 17/18 though.

What do you, as an individual, define friendship as?

This thought occured to me today when I was started on and my two mates, who id consider good friends, literally sat back and did nothing. Afterwards, they just offered me their sympathy as though, 'yeah, it was harsh mate but shit happens.'

In your view of this situation, would you consider these two fellows friends?

Do you think friends should stand out for one another at all costs or do you leave the individual to sort out his own problems.

Discuss.
if you deserved it, i would have let you get smacked about a bit but if you didnt do anything to deserve it i would stand by my mates

Don't get into a fight with un developed jaw lol :p .You should be fine with weight training there is a small chance you could stunt your growth under 15/16 if you went into the gym and did your max of 1 rep every time. I use to be reluctant to give help to people under 16 but now I will help anyone that can produce testosterone :p . Doing a lot of biology research and being on the American bb site forum.bodybuilding.com made me realise most of this you can't train under 16 bla bla is ballshit. It's not really ballshit it’s just very over rated. I would get into the gym and bust you’re arse with correct form for a few months and then see who would fuck with you.

I train 6 days a week but my dad is very into training and I have a nicely sized gym on the side of my house so it is really quite easy for me. I started off on a few days a week until I could lift my arm up the next day ;p then went straight into 6 days a week and haven’t regretted it since and I started when I was 15/16 but I was already a nice size like 6.2/6.3 and 260 LBS.

As people have said the only fighting worth training is boxing for the cardo and punching and I like Ju-Jitsu as I am really into the ground fighting and a MMA addict. So this year or next year I will join and hopefully be able to do some decent matches.

There were a few my size 16 and under, but when you get to 16+ they all start to be my size. I would still have played if it was still just local club Rugby with mates and not wannabe pro England Rugby.

To strenghten the wrists you should do the push-ups on the knuckles, as far as I know :)

Just get yourself down to your local club. It wont be as serious as you think. I cant stress this enough. Any young person who likes sports should get themselves down to a club and play for them. You dont know what you are missing :)

To me it doesn't particularly matter who it is, I'll always stop a fight if it is getting out of hand. I pride myself in the fact that I've never started a fight, nor do I get aggressive feelings when I'm drunk or so but seeing a fight is something which I cannot help but sober up for (if required) and help out.

I think my best example was when I saw a group of 10 or so people beating up one guy. I was in the car with my mum at the time and yelled at her to pull over (she hadn't seen what was happening) and I ran over to the scene. As soon as I arrived, 2 of the people ran off and I started asking the rest what the hell was going on.

It turned out to be quite embarressing as they were only play fighting but from a distance it looked as though it was a general chavtastic beating...

Luckily for me, all of them understood I was only trying to help out and commended me for running over to aid someone in a hopeless situation. A few minutes of talking later, 2 cars filled with people screamed up behind me and out came yet more people who found the whole thing also highly amusing.

I then went into the shops and got what I was there to get. When leaving the shop, I saw them again and was asked by one why the hell I would fight for someone I didn't know like that. My answer was that I'd rather get beaten up for trying to help someone then live with the guilt that I had just walked away and allowed someone to potentially be hospitalised or worse.

As the saying goes, all it takes for evil to prevail is for the good people of the world to stand idly by and do nothing.

Had a similar experience to that :) Was only a couple of streets away from where I live, there was a guy (who actually lived a few doors away from me, but I didn't really know him) who was clearly drunk, being beaten up by these two other guys (they were only 15-17 years old at max), I was walking my dog at the time and saw it. I ran over to them and pulled one of them off and he fell too the floor, the other one said something along the lines of "I'm sorry mate I'm sorry it was a mistake", they were both chavs if you're wondering!

They both then kind of staggered off whilst swearing at me, the guy that took the beating was barely able to talk, so I had an ambulance come and pick him up. After they picked him up and I explained quickly what I'd seen to one of the guys in the ambulance, I went on home.

A couple of days later the guy came to my house thanking me, apparantley he had been to his friends party and was on his way home when they tried to mug him.

Can't stand to think what could've happened if I didn't turn up when I did, he was in a pretty bad state.

or get a resonably light weight, a piece of rope, and a small bar

Tie one end to the weight and the other to the bar and turn the bar with hands on both side of the bar till the weight is at the top.
Then do the same in a controlled way so the weight goes back to the ground

Depends on why they started, most my friends over the years i would have stepped in for, but a few gobby twats I would have let get beaten on.
