Yeah it warns on a few sites that it will change you psycologically(sp)I had a friend who joined up with the French Foreign Legion back in the mid 90's. When he came out 2 years later he was a changed man, and I don't mean in a good way. I think the phrase you might use is "batshit crazy".

4 pullups and a 1.6mile run is nothing. I know lots of unfit people who could manage that.

Proper pulls are not the ones most people do, its arms totally straight then pull up to your chin then right back down to straight arms. Most people do the old bent arms thing which is much much easier

Dude, I did just say that most of my unfit mates could do them. I know they are hard if you are not used to lifting your own body weight, but 4 is still a low number. I also know what a proper pull up is.
You just need strong forearms and upper back strength, it seems a very poor physical test considering what the rest of their training is reported to be like.

Sorry, i should have stated this was when i was 16 and 6 months in recruit selection in Glencourse for the British Army.11? I usually do 3 sets of 10 when I'm doing a back session (although it usually ends up being 25 in total because I'm dead by the last set), of proper wide grip pull ups, and 3 sets of narrow grip chins when doing a bicep session.
