FPS test in Quake 2

Hi,

I want to test the FPS of my new computer in Quake 2 (I don't do Quake 3) but I've completely forgotten what to type at the console. Can any1 remember?

Simply blink every time the screen refreshes. Count the number of times you blink every second and hey presto! You have your frames per second!

or you could do timerefresh, that can be used in game but to give a more accurate result use what throd said, you could also try it using the crusher demo, the fps u get in that is the lowest u will get ever.
