Foreign Characters question

Well, a while ago i managed typing an umlauted "o" without using Alt codes or char mapper, im using a standard english qwerty keyboard and the only characters i can remember typing that arer used in other langs are áéíóú, i know for a fact i did an umlauted o but i cant remember for the life of me the key strokes i did to type it, any ideas?

Hi Sharma

If you press the 'Alt Gr' button (usually right of the spacebar) and a letter you can usually achieve an accent for vowel letters (Shift + Alt Gr + Letter for captialised accent letters). That's the only way that springs to mind without using Alt+Number codes or the Character Map.

Aye i know about the vowel ones, im just unsure about the umlauted set of vowels "äëïöü" :)

You're very welcome :) I had a quick play in other Windows apps and the codes don't seem to work, sadly. But if you're only concerned with Word, they should do just fine.

If I forget the keyboard combos I usually run up Character Map and copy and paste from there.
