I read last week Owen has to take a 40k a week pay cut or be sold if thats true i would not think 100+ mil transfer kitty is real.

Yep that is correct and to be honest they are right, £120k a week for a player who has been unfit for 2/3 of his previous deal cannot expect a massive wage like that, especially from a club like Newcastle who need those funds to try and build a side capable of getting into Europe.
