So who else has got this?

Had it since day after release & really enjoying it. First FM where i have had to really think about tactics. Really enjoying it in my second season with Bognor Regis.

I am getting it from the Mrs for Christmas hopefully! I played the demo on steam and I wasn't too fussed about the new 3D pitch view. I am looking forward to all the other little tweaks and features tho =)

It's still as great as ever. I think the 3d pitch shows you whats going on in the game much better than just text and the 2d pitch.

It is a stupid price on steam though, which is a shame as Steam is great otherwise. You can get it for £20 from GAME right now.

I have this too...

Apart from the messing about on the install which was a pain in the fff'ing ass.

The game as a whole is pretty good and I like the 3d which gives more of an idea on whats going on.

The tactics are abit of a struggle and getting the strikers ratings up I found very hard and still learning.

I have to confess I havn't played this solo as of yet. Its more fun when your playing against a few friends and its very time consuming which we dont seem to have much off :).

As most know you need atleast 10 hours to play this at any time, agree? :)

I think this is alot better than the older version with all the new additions

agree?

I think it's the best version yet & the most playable straight out of the box.

Tactics are hard. I had to download a framework guide which has helped loads.

I love the 3d match engine. Actually couldn't imagine life without it now tbh.

How in depth do you go or is it just a generic tactic for all matches?

I played 3 seasons with Manch city. shitloads of cash, man utd seems to be the team to beat.

tactics are not a problem for me, 4 4 2 (attacking) woorks great for me..

i enjoying it, playing as man utd. Arsenal are the team to beat imo, something about the way they play fits the 9.1.0 match engine.

Everything feels improved, 3d is great and my tactic been working fine for all occasions, made a 1 tactic fits all occasions for my united team and doesnt matter if it youth or 1st team they seem to give a good showing and unlike some people my strikers been great :D

need to get the new patch out today still though so may change my view :p

fairly in depth, each player has their own instructions etc. I have 2 tactics sets, one for home matches, and one for away.

Thats what i am trying to develop. it's hard on the low leagues though. Players are so inconsistent it's hard to see what's working and what's not.

You have to give it time rubric, if you chop and change tactics the player never settle to the system. Also you need to pick a playing style tha fits the attributes of the players you have

Yeah it was getting there then the flaming thing crashed and i lost about 4 games i had played and i just can't bring myself to play them again so i have started again. I think the tactics i picked are not really suited to the lower leagues. I need to have another read up and rethink. I have played FM since the original cm and never have tactics been as important as they are in this version. I struggle with the whole supporting striker and getting him to drop in the whole or if playing with one up front i find it hard to get the wingers to cut inside.

If you are in the championship then try and sign Zaki in the first season. You won't be able to get him until the end of season because of his loan to Wigan. He will cost about £3million, will score 30 goals a season in championship or premier league, and big clubs will come knocking with offers of £10million plus after a year.

dont buy agbonlahor hes been shit in this season for me, tho matt derbyshire has been banging quite a few in. I bought geovani from hull and he often has a good game, scoring is quite rare tho.

Ok I now started to play FM09 and I always try to find the best formation and I created this (see links below) I wont say which team I play.

Below are stats for the first 6 friendlies so I know the games are going to be quite easyish.

Formation: 4 - 2 - 3 - 1

------------------------------

1st Game - 5-0 Win against Queen of Sth

26 shots 14 on Target - Queen of Sth 0 shots

------------------------------

2nd Game - 3-0 Win against Motherwell

15 shots 7 on Target - Motherwell 4 shots 0 on Target

------------------------------

3rd Game - 2 - 0 Win against Kilmarnock

13 shots 6 on Target - Kilmarnock 0 shots

------------------------------

4th Game - 3 - 0 Win against Inverness CT

19 Shots 5 on Target - Inverness CT 2 shots 0 on Target

------------------------------

5th Game - 5 - 0 Win against Hibernian

14 Shots 4 on Target - Hibernian 3 shots 1 on Target and 1 own goal

------------------------------

6th Game - 9 - 0 Win against AA Gent

26 shots 14 on Target - AA Gent 1 shot 1 on Target

------------------------------

So total stats so far are as follows for 6 games:

113 Shots 46 on Target and 27 Goals

Computer Teams

10 Shots 2 on Target and 0 Goals

------------------------------

If you guys wanna try out this formation please go ahead and let me know how it goes.
