I will be shocked if Liverpool spend £25 million on one player and this is what it is going to cost to get either Torres, Villa or Eto'o. Regardless, one player won't be enough to turn Liverpool into a title winning side. They need to shed dead wood like Kewell and Pennant then replace with real quality.
right, what's wrong with Pennant now? I've not watched many Liverpool matches, but he seems to be quite decent. I've never understood why he isn't one of the starting 11.
as I said, im no liverpool fan, so I clearly dont know what im talking abouthowever he seems to add a little spice to their play everytime he gets in.
I'm still suprised how much people are willing to pay for Owen. Granted he has talent but he's been out for how long?, hell of a lot of money to gamble on.
Also suprised that Arsenal didn't try and strike up a deal to take Eidur the other way, proven goal scorer in the premiership which is what Arsenal are in dire need of.
I like Messi![]()
Bad for the english game but i dont think arsenal have looked that bad this season when he has been injured. He will still be missed heavily though, think he was a whole inspiration to the team.
if/when henry does leave, how long till wenger decides to go? also likes of wallcott/fabregas etc?
Not consistent or commited enough, sadly the bloke is a big time charlie as Leeds/Birmingham/Arsenal fans will tell you. He makes an effort for the big games but completely goes missing in many of the games against lesser sides, it cost Liverpool points last season and they can't afford someone like that if they want to win the league. I was sat with 3 Liverpool fans during the CL final and they all said the same thing, one went even further and said Zenden plus Finnan had to go as well.
Liverpool need to start making some moves in the transfer market now, pre-season is rapidly approaching and they haven't made a significant signing yet. Rafa's £50 million warchest seems to be non-existant, no serious moves have been made for any world class players so far.
Oh and here is something that started doing the rounds in Manchester yesterday, Micheal Owen to Manchester United in exchange for Alan Smith and £13 million. I am uncertain if Owen/Rooney will work for us though, serious lack of height but then again we won the league without a big centre forward so who knows.
The rumour about Owen and Smith can't be true, why would we pay 13m, when Owen has a 9m buy-out clause?
owen has always been over rated
Don't be surprised to see Wenger new manager of Barcelona in next few weeks.
Hardly Thad
Last time Chelsea finished around mid table was 95/96 season iirc. Since then it's been within the top 6![]()
Don't be surprised to see Wenger new manager of Barcelona in next few weeks.
It was obviously coming if the price is 16 mil when West Ham offered 18 for bent its a joke.
He wanted to leave thats fine the reason he offered were upsetting i would rather he just said he leaving for new challenges.
Let just wait and see who Wenger brings in if it Babel then Arsenal are going to be in trouble next year when Ade gose to the cup of nations we will have RVP and Bartender.
Not gonna happen Wenger pledge next season and hes no liar. Also Barce current manager has said he will be there next season.
It is a joke but to be fair, he was not happy with the way Dein left and Wenger is on about leaving too. He would not move to another English club due to his love for Arsenal and to be fair, he has achieved everything here.
Good luuck to him I say, he wowed us for 8 years and he wants to try another league before he retires.
However, I can see him coming back to Arsenal when he is 34-35 if he is still playing as a player/coach role
Ohh yeah good luck to him and everything but he did not need the rubbish reasons. Wenger never has signed a deal with less than a year to go and a player should not quit because someone on the board dose. I would like to have seen him say im moving for new challenges.
I would just like to point out that no matter how good a single player are, he does not do everything by himself.
Sure, Henry was an extremely good player, but he had help from different players around the pitch.
Arsenal won't start to struggle to stay over the mid-table just cause they lose one player.
The whole team was build around him though. He wasn't just 'one' player at arsenal. He was THE player.
