Yeh, but I don't think thats the main reason why they do it. I think it's becouse as it is now, they are not much used cause peeps rather want buffs and it's not conc for both buffs and the resist boosts

I dont think thats necessary cause soon everyone has his own buffpotions!?

They lose more $$$ when peeps quit the game in disgust because there's no way to have a fair fight without having two computers and two accounts (or two accounts and a cheat hack allowing you to run two instances of the DAOC client on the same computer).

uhm... when we got a warden on rvr group he makes 3 resist buffs per person... thats 24total buffs, now they will have to recast 24buffs each 10 mins. *cough*

about buff bots -i often wonder why can u cast buffs on not ur grp members if daoc was supposed to be a game where high level chars cant help low level, that buffs from 50 level mages/druids work and its PL .Also wonder why dps add isnt capped at low levels as weapon dps is?
If u could only buff ppl in ur grp all that soloers with buffbots had 2x less rp so they might try to go wo buffs if they really want that rps?

The new resistbuff system is good for the group cause more will get em, however for the warden himself it's a pain in the ass to recast em every 10 mins and lose 30% of mana. We now have to recast 1 spell every 6 minutes and 8 spells every 10 minutes.
I can announce now for sure that a Wardens core business is recasting timer based spells.

Mythic has been inviting open comments on the buffbot issue.

I have actually seen some good ideas, my favorite being that a buffer gets some of the RP that the receiver of the buff makes. If the buffer is out of range for RP, then those points are lost.

I liked this idea because there would be no nerfs to buffs/buffers, and the coding would be simpler than any major changes...also, support classes would get better RP distribution

Forgot to say that I think the arsehole who came up with five/ten minute timers in this game instead of 30min or more needs to be dragged into the the street and flogged.

Friar have 3 resist buffs, their abs buff, their AF buff, and their dex/qui buff all on the timer and all costing 10% each

Luckily no, but they won't "balance" the wide gap between a buffbot loser and a regular gamer, as you can use one potion every 3 minutes and the buffs stay 10 minutes...

Are you telling me the people with two accounts and two pcs (each pc costing £800 each or so) will have to cancel one account as they can't afford it anymore? Not bloody likely if you have this much time and money you feel you *must* have a buffbot to be *uber* in RvR don't throw your toys out of the pram if someone takes it away

I wonder how many of the uber types would actually cancel both accounts and not just one as someone removed the one advantage they feel they need? Alot prolly would and I'd have no sympathy for them.

Incidentally I do have 2 accounts 2 pcs to play on (I'm doing a course in networking one is really a working pc) and frankly I can't be arsed to lvl a bufbot nor to keep PLing a character i'm never really going to play...

And hey, as Jiggs says, the last thing I want to be doing is more buffing lol
