Just got home from a leet0r press preview showing of the film, due out on August 10th.

It fucking rocks, it really is very, very good. Best film of the year by a long way for me in so many respects.

This is one film that you have to see; regardless of whether or not you have played or liked the games - it's a brilliant film in its own right.

He's judging a film on a trailer. Bad idea. I thought the trailer was very good, yes. And as for crap and childish - that's a fucking joke. The plot's very detailed, intricate and involving, whilst leaving most of it to be worked out yourself. It's in no way childish at all - fully undertsanding the film takes thought.

Watched it yesterday (the whole film, not the trailer) and yes it's a very very good film.

Visually stunning - amazing to think how far the technology has advanced since toy story. The 'actor' movement is motion captured from real people (as far as i could see) but it all adds to the realism.

The story is simple, slightly hokey, ends a little abruptly (remember how Akira ended?) but is certainly more interesting and intelligent than the trash being pumped onto cinema screens atm (Jurassik Park 3 was a waste of space IMHO).

Go get it, erm, see it

Akira's ending was leet, hush your mouth about its abruptness (it wasn't really, btw, the film had been kind of building up to it throughout)

Man wazz, until the other day when it was revealed that you were just piggy backing off a real journo, I thought we might get a proper well thought out review (a rareity - content on bw forums) ... of course, I now realise that the post you made was the best you could do, you leech of cinema tickets you!

it annoys me when people make up their minds on trailers.... if I'd have done this I never would have seen the likes of the brilliant American Beauty - the trailers for that really sucked and made the film look entirely up its own arse and boring - which it isn't
