does ice count or does it have to be in liquid form?

Next subject - water. That can be water in any situation, bathtime, rivers, rain, puddles, drops of rain on something, condensation, etc.
Any situation sounds like it could include ice I reckon.

Ice is frozen water, so is fine, as is steam.

It was the only time I had a decent camera when I was travelling - I borrowed my friend Nick's Canon when I was on my way to my Parachute jump, but I didn't know what I was doing with it - that pic is pure fluke; most of them came out blurred.

No, that was in a little plane (and my second attempt at a jump). I only took the camera as a favour for my friend, and left it onboard with the pilot when I jumped. The Venezuela one is from a little Cessna as well.

Cheers mate :) Seem to be getting more entries, perhaps people have all got shiny new cameras for Christmas :)
Water is also an easier one to do than the last one, and christmas is out the way so people can concentrate on other things :)

Agreed. Water is a much easier category. Most of my albums seem to feature water-related pics one way or another. Annoyingly I found a nice shipwreck one that would have worked in the "neglect" comp as well. Ah well...

I do think this comp is going to feature an awful lot of sunrises and sunsets though (guilty).

Ha ha :iagree:

If I had spangly glacier pictures taken from a plane I would enter them instead ... but this is all I have for now.

At the end of the day, I thought it would be better to join the picture competition and grow the group of people participating rather than worry about tipping the sunrise/sunset balance.

:)

I think this is going to be a tough one! I've not been to nearly as many exotic locations, let alone with an SLR so i'm screwed from the off. I'll need to get really creative on this one to stand a chance.

You don't need an exotic location though - it could be as simple as a leaf on a frozen puddle in a field somewhere. I have an idea for a piccy tomorrow, if the weather holds I'll be off to get it.

Ah that's the danger though when it's down to opinion voting; that's not likely to have the wow factor.
