There's something very wrong about penguins on a sunny beach. Was that taken in SathIfrika?

No, East Falkland island. It may look sunny but you have no idea how windy it was, wind + sand = bad times :(

For the past 12 months, I've been experimenting with mono/duotone shots and the square format. These are my favourite three so far:

I'm betting G is looking on his map right now, finding some spectacular mountain to shoot or something :)

Hopefully the weather will be good tomorrow, if so I'm off up't'moors.

Fast running out of light in the evenings, I am planning a trip to Glen Etive, but I don't think I'll make it up there in time for this competition. I've got a couple of shitty weekends coming up with work which will gobble up weekend time.

Got a new rugged compact camera for the forthcoming honeymoon and tried out on a visit to my parent's last night....

#1 - Turnberry Lighthouse

I'm going to open with one of my own personal favourites. I have this on a 45" x 30" canvas in my kitchen. I like it because the sun was going down to my left behind a big rain cloud which painted the land in a muted blue light, it's made the picture more like an oil painting than a photograph.

Now you're talking. I was in Kilmartin/Glencoe/Arran last September. Quite something.

This was one of my best, taken yarns ago on a D60.

In the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The alcove was illuminated by a low sun through a stained glass window, and just as I was taking the picture a tourist walked behind me. It looks like a monk.

I have it framed and hung in my hallway. The print cost a tenner, the bloody framing was over £100!
